Real Madrid midfielder, Mesut Özil recently admitted that he used to search for moves of newly appointed assistant manager, Zinedine Zidane on youtube.

In an interview with French magazine, So Foot, Özil spoke about his affinity for the former French international and his influence.

“I discovered Zidane in the final of the 1998 World Cup. From then on I always wanted to be Real Madrid or France on my games console.”

Özil went on to explain how Zidane was his role model and idol growing up.

“When I saw him do a particular move, I would look for it on YouTube. I typed ‘Zinedine Zidane’ into the search field and watched his videos. I said to myself, ‘I have to do this on the pitch’. And it turned out that I was able to copy his moves pretty quickly. I’ve never seen the same charisma on the pitch.”

i hope he gets his contract extension as soon as possible because all these new signings are enough to make him feel uncomfortable.

but i think ozil should leave, if he isnt going to be a starter.

too good of a player to be left on the bench.

would love him to stay at the club, but i like the player too much.

if this 'benching' continues he may lose his national team spot this coming world cup.... he would definitely leave next summer.

i understand the signing of isco due to his age and potential, but bringing bale would bench ozil. now we have to go from seeing ozils beautiful assists into seeing all of our attacks come from the wings in boring english classic style.

real has taken a big gamble i say.. bale's quality is undeniable .. but 100 million for someone who has some injury history, and has just started to explode 2 years ago.

Well, the new formation has no No 10 role and Ozil at RW is half the player he is centrally. Ozil going out has everything to do with a formation change aka Carlo...and people need to stop blaming perez (not aimed at you) it is all down to Carlo.

Bale isn't a RW either. He's an SS/AM like Ozil.
