Tech help please :)

My father would like to get a tablet, and he's not sure which one to get! He has 3 questions :
1. Does Microsoft have a tablet?
2. Does the Samsung Galaxy ( if that is the tablet ) run Excel, Word, etc ?
3. Which is better Samsung or Ipad ? (List advantages and disadvantages please)

You can get tablets running Windows, though if you really want one, I'd wait out for Windows 8 to be released, it's more touch-friendly.

The Galaxy Tab shouldn't have proprietary Office software like Excel and Word, though I'm pretty sure there is some word processing software and other stuff like that in the market.

And I think Samsung is better because I like Android more

I agree. Wait for Windows 8 because it's pretty much built for touch-devices.

how good is you father with tech.....

if he isn't that good with technology then the Ipad is for him....

if he knows how to use it pretty well and doesn't get frustrated learning new things then Galaxy good too...

Win 8 will for PC's and tablets but won't be out until next year....


and you can use Office on both iPad and Andriod Based tablets


and if you want a Ipad then it will cost a bit getting apps or you will have to jailbreak them....

my dad bought a ipad and hes a apple fanboy, he loves it

i have a ipad, macbook and iphone and i like them all lol

I agree with this, through and through. The iPad is made more for the simple-minded individual in that it is basically a giant version of an iPhone/iPod Touch, just with no ability to make a phone call.

The rest is all true, and accurate. Myself, I would go with the iPad just because it is an Apple product and the best !

Has your Father thought about the BlackBerry Playbook ?

I suggest it highly. Looks like the more advanced option, and if your Father is a businessman, and thus most likely a BlackBerry user, he can easily sync his tablet with his phone. Transfer emails, documents, etc. very seamlessly. If you want, I can put up the specs for the new BlackBerry Playbook 2 which launches soon if I am correct.

yup playbook is another good tablet... with blackberry now allowing android apps on it....more devs will start making more apps for it

plus also look out for kindle fire if you want a cheaper but good option...and is made by amazon....

Blackberry is a dying standard, there's no point.

Kindle Fire, I would recommend, but I don't think it'd be particularly brilliant for a business perspective, it's more for normal consumers. They block the Android Market on it as well, so you only got the Amazon Appstore.

That guy up there saying that you should get an iPad because it's made by Apple, that's just an iSheep for you . In all honesty, the iPad is still an amazing tablet.
