Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket - World Cup 2019 Special
I love to watch overseas tours be it test or ODI's cuz there's always something for the bowlers in countries like South Africa ,Australia and England.Especially the test matches.I absolutely enjoyed watching South Africa-Australia test series which concluded recently.
Whilst Cricket in the Sub-Continent just sucks.Plain and Simple.
But i am an Indian though.Even if i dont personally prefer watching cricket regularly i atleast make sure to follow whatever goes on in the cricket world due to enormous media coverage.

U don't want to know....
I personally think he can't be a odi or t20 capitan as long as he relies on afridi to score a quick # of runs... we could have easy won the last game..
His name in Pakistan is tuk tuk...the noise the bat makes when u defend/block

Right i asked because one match test/test/whatever takes soooo long to finish and tbf it's not that entertaining. I mean i struggle to watch one match of tennis and i find that much more entertaining. I guess there's something i'm missing when it comes to cricket, then again i should know coz i live in Australia.....RealGunner wrote:I try to watch it but you require a lot of time for it

most people in England, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand don't really watch test....and most of the spectators in the grounds are there just to chill in the sun, drink some beer....
Stadiums are mostly empty or even barely 1/5 full when tests happen...
but packed like hell when One days and T20 happen

This is really ignorant on your part.I think Subcontinent audience is worse when it comes to test cricket.
Most of the test games staged in Pakistan 4-5 years ago were almost empty hell even in India-Pakistan games there were empty stadiums. It seems to be the case even in India nowadays as curators prepare useless pitches thus we dont have great test games.
Whereas In Australian and English summers no matter which team they're playing there will always be a full house in almost every game ,atleast the first 3 days.
And New Zealand arent even a 'traditional' test cricket team to begin with if you know what i mean.
I really believe English crowds are the best crowds as they embrace all forms of cricket though the passion is nowhere near to what you get from the sub continent teams.

Big game flop that helped his country out how many times when they were in trouble? You say he's strike rate was the reason South Africa lost WC's yet he grinded through sessions while the rest fall around him? So he is the scap goat for your teams batting collapses? Do you know cricket sir?mzamani wrote:Kallis? i am South African but even i do not rate him at all. he is always a big game flop. his strike rate is mostly the reason why we always lose Wcs. sure, good for Tests, but when it matters, he is always the main reason we struggle for big scores. sure he keeps his wicket, but thats only important in Tests.
maybe im just not a fan of Tests at all. anyway Gibbs was more talented than him, but i guese he was the Balotelli of Cricket.
as for best player of all time that i have seen, i will say the little master.

India vs England in the Champions Trophy Final on Sunday.
Its like a battle of Modern Cricket(India) vs Old Fashioned Cricket (England) in a way.
If one has watched England's matches they go about with their batting in a traditional way ,keeping wickets in hand ,not taking too many risks and then go berserk from over 40.
Indians on the other hand have that natural fair in them, its more or less calculated risks and they clearly know how to up the run rate when it matters most. What i also like about this time is they know how to adapt to the demands of the situation.Dhawan has been man of the tournament for me ,he's been amazing to watch.Plus the fielding unit is brilliant ,clearly up there with the best in the world.
India are slight favorites ahead of the final even though England have played really well especially their bowling attack which has been sensational to say the least.

Congrats to India. Jadeja was impressive all tournament. But Dhoni once again proved he is a great captain

What a game !!!!!
What a win !!!!
Have to say England self-destructed in the end.
They had the match in their grasp but just threw it away.
