Maicon out with thigh strain

Yet more injury worries for Inter, as Douglas Maicon picked up a thigh strain during the Derby d’Italia.
The Brazilian right-back played the whole 2-1 defeat to Juventus last night, but felt pain after the final whistle.

The official club website has released a statement confirming Maicon underwent tests with Professor Francesco Benazzo in Pavia.

Results confirmed a second-degree thigh strain in his left leg.

It is not clear how long Maicon will be out for, but an injury like this typically requires at least two to three weeks.

Inter players have suffered from a series of muscular problems throughout the campaign.



When it rains it pours, just when he started to look like 2 years ago, oh well at least now our wonderkid Santon will get some playing time.

Didn't Inter suffer from a large number of injuries around this time last season as well? Would be cause for concern with the medical staff if true.

Yup, ever since Rafa, injuries are big issue, not saying that he is the couse.....

Worst case i think is Motta, we play so much better with him but in this last 2 season he is like made of glass, worst then Robben and Pato combined...

I actually disagree with these guys,always shared my love for Jonathan,even calling for him to start ahead of Maicon.

Defenders need time to get used to playing in a new line and the switch in formation, combined with an ever-changing partnership in the middle, would make it difficult for anyone to simply settle into a new league, let alone play particularly well. He deserves more time to show his quality - if he has it.

I don't give a shit if he will settle if he's gonna suck dick he can at least try to play better. look at zarate, he's not near our best player but at least he plays with passion and tries to be a game changer. Alvarez does as well.

it's one thing for a settled player to start to slack like sneijder, but for someone who rides the bench and gets such a little opportunity to show their talent they should be playing every game like it's the most important game of their life.

that's why Im saying we should play some of our youngsters, they'll work hard and try their best because they got something to prove. that's why I hate castaignos, and because he always has a confused look on his face.

what is absolutely phenomenal is how zanetti plays every game as if he doesn't have a steady spot in the starting 11, even when our team is slacking and he's at his old age.

Johnny didn't even get to play at RB,and all the games he played I wonder did he get 90 minutes all together? And that was all under Gasperini when the team played the worst football in the past who know how much...

thats true, Jonathan didnt get a fair chance yet and whenever he played he did alright. Its Nogatomo that im worried about, the guy simply sucks this year and yet he gets to start every game

Zarola is being way too hard on Jonathan. Played 3 games? And played as a wb instead of rb. Give him time and you'll see his quality. Hell Maicon frustrates me more sometimes with his "standstill while trying to dribble 4 guys "
