in the indian version of who wants to be a millionaire, a part time computer teacher from a random village in india's most backward state who earns 150 dollars a month won the game , aka 5 crore rupees.. if that guy can win it why cant neuer..

Other celebrities such as actors and actress managed to win 65k and 125k, no wonder footballers are smarter than these Models who call themselves actors and actress..

Well, the first 3-5 questions are usually joke questions. From then on it gets interesting.

But then, many German football players are indeed pretty smart. You find lots of them who have an Abitur (German A-levels equivalent that allows you to go to a university) and not few actually complete a university degree after their football career. Oliver Kahn is currently studying management, for example.

Khedira comes around as extremely intelligent and eloquent. I think he made his abitur (A-levels) with very high grades despite all the football training and games.
Mesut is incredibly shy, comes from a poor background and is hardly able to speak a whole sentence without some grammatical errors. That doesn't mean he's not smart because obviously there's a difference between IQ and education but he certainly doesn't seem like a guy you could have a meaningful conversation with.
Still, at least you can do an interview with him nowadays. His interviews when he first came into the league were incredibly painful to listen to.

Just from the way the talk and the answers they give Merte, Hummels, Müller and Götze seem pretty smart. Schweini, Boateng and Neuer not so much but they don't seem dumb either, just average, nice guys.

Sahin btw is an incredibly outgoing, bright, eloquent guy, that's why he was Dortmund's captain I guess. II always felt that Mesut and Nuri were completely opposite in their demeanour.

A couple footballers are just hard to judge, Boateng and Özil, for example, don't sound that smart because of their accents and probably education, doesn't mean they're dumb, as Serge pointed out.

Lahm, Müller and Mertesacker seem genuinely smart, when they give interviews, they don't just repeat talking points, but are actually able to give proper responses to the questions.
Khedira as well, those are the guys where you don't feel that they had to memorize their answers, but actually understand what they're saying.

Edit: BTW I think Schweinsteiger is pretty smart as well, but he's hot-headed and not the intellectual type.
