When Ramos was asked to stay back, he has behaved and played better than when he was not restricted.

There is something about him playing RB that seemed to have gone wrong, im sure he can improve but playing as a CB he looks better.

there is something that mou cant handle. he cant improved ramos for example at the RB.

me personally, enjoying playing at the RB and forced to play defense isnt satisfying. make him play where he is happy and for sure he can play better.

Cb right now is not an issue at ramos cause we have no choice.
but defensive RB and attacking FB is what im saying with ramos.

so why he cant just get a CB? cause he is mou LOL

Here is the thing to consider. You can only make so many moves in your defense, and you have to leave with the choices you make for the foreseeable future.

Ramos as a RB for Real Madrid, has fallen off quite badly. It seems like the type of up and down game we play is harder for him to handle, and he has a problem with pacy forwards.

Mourinho has to consider if from what he saw, Ramos will make big enough of an improvement as a fullback and return to being world class.

If he thinks, it's too much to gamble but still see a great CB out of him, he will move him at CB.

Keep in mind that Ramos is RM veteran, you "cant bench him" so you only have one shot at it. If you buy a young CB, and Ramos keeps sucking ass at RB, you shot yourself in the foot, because he doesnt fit anywhere. He is bad at RB and you have a new young pair of CBs performing, why break it up? you cant rotate your pair of CBs week in and out, it's bad business.

Ramos is not that bad at RB. Can be elite when he wants to. He just has concentration issues against weaker opponents... at least he's not getting red carded once a month lol.

I was actually perfectly happy putting Arbeloa at RB and bringing Ramos to the middle. Arbeloa is just one mean and tough defender. Can't have everyone on the team be sexy... doesn't work.

Arbeloa's marking is outstanding tbh, one of the reasons he doesnt go up much.

I agree. the players we have are good enough. no need to buy jube rejects or other overpriced people.

if mou wanted them to play at rb, we would be after a cb, but we arent are we?

People forget that Thuram and Abidal are not the sexiest corner defenders... but nobody got by them in their prime. Especially Thuram. Modern football is making the corner defenders virtual wingers and asking the CBs and mids to be super athletic to take on the extra coverage responsibilities.

Game is really changing.

It is, specially when you play for madrid, there is an expectation that you attack.

well i think we have the expectations for Ramos to be a world class RB, and for example, saying there are just too good forwards sometimes for him to handle" doesnt cut it. we want him to nullify most of the forwards he play against.

I think la Roja makes him look better than he is. He has so much freedom to attack, so little work to do in defense.

Like i said, he seems to enjoy playing with a partner, and it's better for him as the other guy can help him keep his concentration up.

saying he isnt perfect is the best excuse to drop his intentions?

mou's plan was always for ramos to play cb.

-ramos-pepe is his ideal plan.

my opinion of it, is that mou gave the ok, as a gesture of good faith, 'i pick my player and i let you pick one from la liga, you know your stuff so get us a good one'. After all, it was a back up position, not may risks involved. As when you join a new club you are all smiling before you put on the gloves of steel...

lool, Keep in mind that Valdano signed canales first and then Pedro Leon, before mou got in madrid. He controlled the rest of the signing after that. we can make a case of him giving some leeway to valdano at first.
