hypothetically, can't a team use a GK for 10 games, keep a clean sheet for 10 and then bench im for the remaining season just to win it if that was the case?

It's calculated on clean sheet ratio.

Its Goals Conceded/game:

~ Casillas has 30 goals in 35 games; The Ratio is 0.857 goal conceded/game.
If he keeps 3 CleanSheets in the last 3 games (vs Bilbao, Granada and Mallorca), Ratio:0.789 goal conceded/game

~Valdes conceded 26 goals in 34 games, Ratio: 0.764 goal conceded/game.

So Valdes wins it.. btw, GoalKeepers should play 28+ games and have the lowest ratio (goals conceded/game) Inorder to win the Zamora. ( if i remember correctly).

This will be Valdes' 5th Zamora Trophy (equals Ramallets' all-time Liga record), 4th consecutive (all-time record).

But Pinto was always one of the best shot stoppers in the league pre-Barca.

Bad mistake today..

well he did something similar last la liga classico if i am not mistaken. he is good and i like him, but he will never be no 1.

What has happend to him? A goalkeeper will always make a mistake every once in a while, but since last season he seems to have reverted to him younger self...

that is my concern. i mean if this did not happen i was gonna put him on the top of my list, but with these mistakes in important games...

Watching the play again, Valdes did a big mistake, but Di Maria clearly fouls him. Di Maria doesn't touch the ball and pushes Valdes to the ground --> foul. Don't know why the ref didn't signal it, maybe because he was 40 m. away.

You can't defend valdes for that. Di maria got to the ball and had possession of it while valdes was still fighting for it.

Di Maria didn't foul him, that's just a regular tackle except on a goal keeper, don't let that persuade you that it's a tackle

Unacceptable mistake, he may cost us Supercopa by his idiocy. If we lose this tie, it's all on him. 3-1 would be great result, 3-2 is crap. He gave important away goal and didn't even say sorry to fans, didn't do interview after game. Shame.

He was crap in big games last season and he continues his awful play. He was good in 2009-10 season, very good, but since letting in that Van Persie goal at Emirates he is more and more a liability. Last season he made a lot of howlers, didn't save anything vs Chelsea, both goals in 1-2 Clasico at CN were his mistakes. He is simply not WC and not good enough for Barcelona.

He can revive himself at Wednesday though with good performance. If we lose this Supercopa, it's 100% on him.

He isn't that bad lol, he just makes too many stupid mistakes that can be avoided.

Guaita is a good choice.Germany has a lot of excellent goalkeepers these days.So a German GK is not a bad choice.But I havent seen him enough.So cant comment.
We could have gone for Lloris though.Was relatively cheap.Perhaps a bid in January.Dont think he likes being benched for Friedel.

Seriously don't think any GK will be bought this winter or summer market. A striker or defender will be targetted imo.

I really thought he was in good form the past 2-3 years, and i could forgive an occasional mistake, since he was the 11th barca player helping with passing. But since the RM mistake he is not confident in passing as well as goalkeeping. He needs to up the game, or we should get some new keeper to replace Pinto that could provide some competition to Valdes. I think Pinot is leaving next summer, am i right?

Shakiest start to a season I can recall in recent memory...Of course, could say the same thing about the porous defense - depleted or not

Why Real Madrid fans are eager to keep saying that Casillas is the best GK in the world (even history) while Barça fans are eager to say Valdes sucks when they have done the same big mistakes this season/year?

Casillas big mistakes: Valencia's goal, 1st Getafe goal, both City goals, Dortmund second goal.
Could have done more in second Getafe goal and 1st Messi goal.

Valdes big mistakes: Di Maria goal at Camp Nou, Deportivo second goal.
Could have done more: Ronaldo goal at Bernabeu (supercup), Ronaldo 1st goal at Camp nou.

So Casillas is actually having a worse season than Valdes! wake up...
