Spain's Replacement For Villa
Well, Villa's likely to miss the Euros after the unfortunate injury. Who do you think will play in his stead?

Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
Mata, the closest in style. But given that he was going to get called up anyway, Soldado.

Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
Del Bosque is smart enough to change his tactics. He got too much talent to worry about an declined villa.
Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
Hopefully it's Llorente. Either one will suffice IMO as they will both have service from the rest of the Spain NT. I prefer Llorente due to his height, which makes him and aerial threat and his hold up play which is just good enough, IMO.

I think King Callejon deserves a mention. He can play as a winger/st, super clinical and always finds the net.

I think Llorente would be the most interesting choice.

Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
I am so so so distraught by this news.
Our best striker of all time and in his form, best striker for the team itself is pretty much out for the euros.
First Rossi, now Cassano, then Villa.
Llorente is regularly called up but sadly does not start as much as he should so is irrelevant considering AVB needs someone on the left.
Mata would do but we need a goalscorer.
Negredo....you know my thoughts on him.
I don't know if Soldado can play the versatile inside forward role that Villa can but if so, then he is my pick.

Change tactics, and use Cesc as a false 9.

Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
Callejon could work. Very unproven, but just becouse this goal is just so damn sexy enjoy:
He is the ideal winger Del Bosque wants: Is a winger, but can score. I think he deserves a shot.

Re: Spain's Replacement For Villa
VDB does NOT play wingers hence why Navas warms the bench. What he plays for our system is inside forwards while the fullbacks provide the essential width. How has anyone not gotten this point yet?

He has been playing 2 wide AMs so far? Inside forwards are way different IMO and I think their problem is that they lack width, with penetration. 2 wingers, who are able to score (Pedro & Callejon) would do the difference, and with Llorente as the CF
