This. Very little hope for this one. I mean, it's a remake of the highest grossing movie in 2002...this is just another example of the movie industry milking comics for all its worth. I mean ffs, they're remaking superman. AGAIN !

Trailer wasn't bad though. I'm liking Peter Parker without a pussy ass voice, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

My main concern remains at Anne Hatheway and DK. Why Nolan. Why. Took the risk with Katie Holmes. Made it work. Took less of a risk with Gyllenhal. Nobody really cared. For the love of christ, if you're gna give a chic a major role..don't make it the Princess Diaries bitch !

Btw - Joseph Gordon Levitt's in the movie as some cop. I can see him being Dick Grayson. Bet Nolan's keeping that under wraps, since most of the plot's already been revealed through public shooting.

Liz..you are right with the women in batman movies...but i dont see that as a concern...

Scarlett's hot..but emma is way cuter...which is what i prefer.

I wouldn't completely disagree with you on that, Ali. Although I wouldn't say she's fantastic, she's definitely not a bad actress. I'm just looking at it in relative terms. How will she perform, relative to the fact that she's sharing the screen with the likes of Caine, Oldman, Freeman and Bale.

It's the fact that she'll HAVE to pull a big performance, and anything less won't go by unnoticed. Those guys dominate scenes with their delivery and acting, and I for one will groan in agony if something doesn't feel right

Which led me to whole main character thing. At least with Katie Holmes, she had a minor role. Gyllenhal had a slightly bigger role, but she took it well enough. This is the biggest role Nolan's given to a girl, in his Batman series, so it's fairly risky.

The choice of Hatheway isn't that condemnable, if you consider the options Nolan had to work with. Which is jack shit. Other than Beckinsale ( too old ), I really can't think of someone more suited to play the Catwoman role. Which is why my personal opinion is that he shouldn't have gone for Catwoman this movie. I'd rather he took an extreme risk with Robin, given that DK Rises is gna be set like 8 years past the events of the original DK.
