Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
So. I cleaned out the thread from all the petty bickering, trolling and off-topic stuff. I hope I didn't forget anything. If I catch someone trolling and going OT after this my post here, I will issue warnings freely. I hope that is understood.

Shows his class when the plastic fans want to shit in him, he stays committed and loyal to helping Barca overcome the difficulties of the past season. The Sanchez wrote:Still wants to stay Cesc. So be it though I hope we get rid of him...

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
You know what's funny? He was like that at Arsenal too yet the fans loved him in North London.
Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Sums up Cesc well.
Committed and loyal LOL
How committed and loyal was he when he left the club that taught him football for greener pastures in North London? And then after Arsenal gave him a starting spot and Wenger continued to nurture and let Cesc grow into the player he became and he realized "shit this club probably won't win anything" and saw Barcelona doing well...was he committed and loyal to Arsenal? F*ck no. He got the hell out of there at the first sign of trouble for greener pastures, even though he was the captain.
He's not loyal or committed to anyone.
It's not an attack on Cesc it's just the truth.
Actions speak louder than words here and Cesc has shown his true colors in his actions.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
You are quite wrong if you think I love Cesc. Do you even read? (our forum )
However, this 20 second clips from Allas are completely demagogic. He tries to make a point with a single play.
Cesc barely loses more balls than Iniesta and is the player at Barça with most assists and key passes per minute played in the league. Yet he uploads two videos of Cesc losing the ball.
While Alexis is the player at Barça with worse passing % and most turnovers per game after Messi. Does Allas make a video of Alexis losing the ball? No, he makes a video of Alexis tracking back.
Demagogy.

Yeah, what the hell am I watching here? Cesc got bored with Xavi's milliontrillion side passes, and lost concentration?

Excellent vision from the world class Cesc to set up Soldado there.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
His passing was strangely more accurate and didn't look lost or unfazed off and on the ball. The position he played however was more suited to his style of play.

Because he's fresh. He should rotate more, and play less the next first half of the season.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
In his Arsenal days, Fàbregas would produce assists like this week in week out. It actually became normal to see him create chance after chance for his team mates, as if people expected him to do this consistently (like what we see with Messi nowadays, him scoring a hat trick and people criticising him).
He's a player who relies on forwards and wide men making runs in front of him. When he plays in a system like this he really shines. Of course, that is not how Barcelona play because your style is more about making triangles and positional movement rather than individuals making runs into space. It has bugged me that Barcelona fans think he's not a good player. He is a great player, once lauded the best AM in the world. But it is true that he is a bad fit for Barça.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
I disagree with that. Fabregas has hollywood assists fairly frequently at Barca. That's never been the problem. It's his turnover, mental speed, lack of positioning awareness and pressing that make him unsuited to play CM for Barca.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Positional awareness - yes. He is a player who doesn't read the game as well Xavi hence not good at orchestrating. Closer to goal you won't have that issue as much and most would agree that his game has improved this season when he's played a more attacking role.
Mental speed - depends on how you define it.
Pressing - Agreed he's not a natural but this can be improved.
As a CM, I've been his critic since Barcelona signed him. He can't shield the ball and his upper-body strength is poor. You don't want to trust him in tight spaces but higher up the pitch he does wonders. It is unfair to call his assists Hollywood, he's much more than that.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
By mental speed, I think what BC means is how quickly he can make decisions in small spaces. Far too often he has been caught on the ball unaware and had it stolen. Maybe thats because in England that space he is used to in the midfield is there, because of the up and down nature of the game...but that excuse dont really work anymore, he been here for long enough now.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Every team in EPL used to play deep against Arsenal back in the days so it is understandable that he had more space in midfield back then. And I agree that he is slow on the mind and not aware of surroundings when he under pressure.
I still think, though, against park the bus teams he's more useful than Xavi. In fact I never saw the point in playing both Xavi and Busquets (at the same time) against such tactics. One has to make way for the former Arsenal man because they are both very passive in attack. Busquets often being overridden and not contributing to anything at all as Xavi is responsible to get the ball from deep to distribute it anyway. I think Fàbregas's lack of versatility can be costly when teams change tactics (from park the bus to press) because he is not a third as good as good as Xavi when pressed.

Cesc almost cost the game with his jogging to help the defense in the Sevilla's second goal.
