Unai Emery: Valencia have learned to suffer, but still win
Valencia coach Unai Emery was pleased with the character of his side after they secured only their second league win of the calendar year at Granada.
Sofiane Feghouli scored the only goal of the game as Los Che kept Abel Resino's side at bay throughout the second half to claim all the points.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Emery stated that his team "suffered in the second half to secure the win. It was what the game required."
The Valencia trainer was proud of his team for coming through a "difficult" game but lamented their attacking woes.
"We had most control of the ball in the first half. Granada turned it around in the second half ... they were showing a lot of self-confidence in their playing," he continued.
"We were lacking clarity and coordination in our attacks. We wanted a second goal to stop the suffering."
Los Che have seen the gap widen between themselves and Real Madrid and Barcelona at the top of La Liga in recent weeks and Emery was delighted to return to winning ways.
"It was important to regain a positivity and security."
Valencia host Mallorca in their next league game on March 11.
