Barcelona set £35m limit for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has declared the club will offer no more than £35 million for Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spain international has once again been the subject of interest from Pep Guardiola's side, and the president of the La Liga and Champions League winners has revealed an offer has been made for the Gunners' captain.

Arsene Wenger, however, has insisted his midfielder will be remaining in north London this summer and has no intention of selling the 24-year-old.

"I do not know if we will sign Cesc or not. I have no doubt he is keen to come to Barca," Rosell told TV3 on Monday.

"We have offered less than €40 million [£35m] and if Arsenal do not yield, well then Cesc will not come."

Barca has offered the best they could for a player who would warm their bench if join. Its upto Arsenal to accept or refused the offer. No other clubs also bidding for him. Arsenal should decide whether they want to retain him or not. In case of retaining Arsenal should go for title and buy good and supporting players in the club. And if they are still considering not to challenge for title but to stay at top 4 then they can sell him. To be honest Cesc is no more economically profitable for them after all these antics about his blind affection to Barca. They will be wasting €10m as his wages.and then they might have to sell him in next year for €45m and meaning a wast €5m. Calculation is simple. going for title=Cesc retain; top four ambition=sell him otherwise will be regretting! As simple as that.

In this case all we need to hear is if cesc wants to stay or not, no point of having this media circus over something that requires a yes or no answer. He can kiss the barcelona badge on the bench for all I care.

The only good news for Arsenal is they don't need the money. Wenger wants Cesc to stay, I think even Cesc starting to realize that he will be benched at Barcelona. Barcelona keep insulting Arsenal by their offers,Fabregas is a influential player for Arsenal,With Fabregas on the pitch, 37% of Arsenal’s goals were either scored or created by him. Anything less then 50 million Barcelona can keep their money and wait another 3 years .

Arsenal shouldnt keep him against his will, this aint slavery, we didnt fight the civil war for nothing.

Maybe Barca should totally forget about him and concentrate more on getting a CB, and a LB.

Who said it was slavery, I wish I was getting 110k a week to be a slave, Cesc signed a contract and he should respect Arsenal.
If Barcelona want to free a so called slave then pay what he is worth, not force the player to ask to leave.

I think he actually wants to stay now. I think he is starting to realize that Arsenal love him a lot more then his so called "Home" does. If Barca really wanted him they wouldnt be saying things like "His value has gone down" or "He is only worth 35 million". I think he also is realizing that he has a REALLY good team around him and that if he can play more consitantly as in not getting injured, then he can lead us to glory.

Maybe it's because he might not start for us, but be there more as an injury back up for Xavi, or for rotation, in which case 35 doesnt seem to crazy on Barca's part. It's just good to see that Rosell has issued this, and maybe it won't go on all summer, and he can stay at Arsenal (lol, i know this won't just be "put to bed", but lets hope.)
