Is David Silva a Playmaker or a Winger?
David Silva
My friend and I have been arguing this for a while. What is David Silva? A playmaker or a winger?

Re: David Silva
He likes to cut inside from the right to create chances, like Ribery.
A combination of playmaker and winger.

Re: David Silva
His passing skills and vision is that of a playmaker but he can also be a winger. His genuine position is playmaker, he is behind every attack.

Re: David Silva
He's a playmaker.
I know you get different types of wingers, however if it's the most obvious meaning of a winger, then he isn't that.

Re: David Silva
Is it not possible to be both a play-maker and a winger?

Re: David Silva
Not at all a winger.
Typically, when you see him on the wing it's because we are using a tactic called overload on the flanks and he is trying to create passing triangles to get the fullback free and through on goal.
But because he has a generally free role, sometimes you will see him attack like a winger because he does have the capability.
