How are Hulk and Falcao not avalaible? Chelsea were close signing Hulk but didn't agree on the fee and the player himself said that he wants to join the Premier League this year, as for Falcao Atletico Madrid will accept a good offer cause from what I've read they have some financial problems, they would sell him even that they just signed him last year.

Also Giroud is not enough if Arsenal are going to compete for glory. Our squad is nothing better than last years and we will again fight for 4th place unfortunately if nothing changes.

You guys don't need a forawrd.....

You just signed a scoring winger and a out and out CF and Theo has been waiting to play CF for about 4 years now.

You need a Fab replacement....Dzagoev.....

Hulk isn't even a striker to begin with, so let's rule him out our list of superstar replacements we're never going to buy.

Falcao will cost £30mil-£40mil, because even if Atleti need to sell, they're going to want to make up the money they originally paid for him. And it's safe to say we won't be spending that much on any player.

Higuain doesn't want to leave Madrid and Madrid do not want to sell, so that's him off the list, too.

And before someone mentions him, it looks like Cavani is signing a new deal with Napoli.

We've signed Giroud as van Persie's replacement. There's no need to splash on some superstar striker, because Giroud will score goals given the service, just like how van Persie scored a lot of goals thanks to great service.

Le Samourai is also correct in saying that midfield should be our priority now, not up front. At most, we may need a backup striker, but there's no need for a big money signing there.

What's all these fuss about Van Persie? RVP is not MESSI.
I liked him as a player more so his conduct after he was made captain, but after reading his post,I don't value him more than I do to any SPURS player.
Barca will still exist if MESSI decides to leave today how much more RVP leaving Arsenal.
For him to say all these about the club and manager that has supported him all long, even at his sick bed is total lack of respect.
Have we forgotten all the abuses hauled on Wenger for keeping RVP?
All that and RVP never taught it reasonable to leave when he was being paid for nothing? Now he was fit a season and suddenly Wenger and the club doesn't suit his ego,LET HIM GO!

The midfield and wingers need to chip in more goals we can't rely on having a 25+ goal scorer a season players like Gervinho need to be more clinical and Wilshere always got into positions to score but seemed to panic.

Agreed Jay that midfield is the priority a DM or a creative midfielder is needed (not both), I would prefer a fullback aswell to cover injury-prone Sagna and Gibbs.

But a forward is needed with RvP gone. I don't want to see Chamakh or Park coming from the bench

To me,Arsenal need creative midfielder 1 or 2,and the team is set. There's no point going for any striker rather look for two creative midfielders.
If this can be done,I'm sure Arsenal will be there at the end.

But you have Podolski who can play CF, you have Walcott who can play CF, those guys are 4th and 5th in the depth chart barring injuries.I don't know if Afobe is coming back this year, but he is better than both.

Gervinhio can fill in on the wings for either if moved to CF...you have AOC who can play on the wing as well.

I think this is a blessing in disguise, I really thought that at CF you were a bit too stacked.

RVP's first 7/8 seasons, averaged 59% of games and 9 goals a season. Last season 100% of games and 30 goals. (league stats)

If we consider Giroud as RVP's replacement we are back to square one. Who will be back up to giroud if he is injured or suspended. I am basing this on the assumption that podolski will play as LW. Anyways given that Arshavin is going and there is no benayoun, we will either need another striker or striker/winger that Arsene is so fond of.

Simple. If RVP is gone and Giroud is injured then Podolski plays centrally with Walcott on the right and Ox/Gervinho on the left. But yes, we'd need an extra winger/striker to replace Benayoun as a squad player type role. We always have Chamakh who said he wouldn't mind staying if RVP left.

Think that this is the ambition that RVP is talking about.

OK. but this january again there is african cup of nations and gervinho will be gone again and so will chamakh. That leaves us short on players in january. Speaking of chamakh he seems to be pulling another arshavin, great beginning followed by average performances at best. Having him as a back up does not give confidence.

All the crap about Chamakh aside, who I'm just saying is an option, albeit a crappy one because of a lack of confidence not of talent.

If this was a ruse by van Persie to get a boost in his wages, which I don't think it was, and he goes on to re-sign with us I don't want him to be captain. This is not captain behavior and if he was doing that then it would show a serious lack of integrity to toy with the fans like that.

Same. Started a new CM with Giroud and Podolski added.

Afobe better than Podolski and Walcott? Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
