Van Persie Vs Huntelaar

Easy poll. The two are great with their respective clubs, but only one of them is good with their national team, yet the DT still uses the Arsenal(Juventus2012?) player on the starting XI.

Who is better? Which one would you choose to lead the orange attack?

I would play both with van Persie being behind Huntelaar. Just like against Germany and Denmark in the second half.

huntelaar is rubbish outside the penalty area, seriously.....

he got two chances in the euros so far and he did nothing in both. Against germany he got 45 minutes and did nothing, he should thank van persie for taking the heat away from him

RVP had 12 chances in the 2 matches & scored 1. In that 1 Hunter took away two CB's giving him a free shot.

Atleast 5-6 1 on 1's in both the chances. And that miss from the Van Bommel pass was a joke. I dont care about the consolation goal. If he had converted earlier we would have had a Huge Advantage.

Flop of the Tournament after Ronaldo for me. I had high hopes. If this guy is benching Huntelaar then he BETTER be that Damn good at finishing.

I personally think Bert van Marwijk has more to do with this then you guys may think, it's not as black and white as it has been portrayed over the last few weeks. Both, Robin van Persie and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have had terrific individual seasons, but van Marwijk stubborn side has led him into playing the wrong lone striker. Whilst van Persie is a tremendous player, one I truly respect, despite some of his professionalism last season, he doesn't fit the system in the same way Huntelaar does. There is a clear difference in their playing styles, Huntelaar suits the system better because he finds himself in the box, looking for the ball, pressuring the centre-backs, and just being in the box to make for a good focal point. Whereas, van Persie drifts far too deep and has the movement of a number 10, in my opinion.

What the real question should be, instead of comparing these two strikers, is whether they can fit in the current system together. What van Marwijk should have done in the friendlies, is tested out van Persie operating as the number 10, with Huntelaar as the lone striker. It would mean that Mark van Bommel would have to be dropped, as he has been pretty poor for the national team, he can't maintain the same level of performances we once used to see. It would also give the opportunity for testing out Wesley Sneijder as a central midfielder. All of this could have been used to Holland's advantage, but van Marwijk doesn't want to hear what the players want, which is absurd.

There has got to be a way they both can play at the same time. But if I had to choose one or the other Van Persie

Van Persie offers more imo.

Van Persie is a better passer/playmaker, etc etc.

But Huntelaar is a better Finisher, and he is vastly superior in the air.

It's a tough one. They're both great strikers. But I'd go with Huntelaar.

van persie behind huntelaar means sneijder has to go on wing/CM. I'd rather play RVP on wing and put sneijder in the middle. The problem with RVP is, he drops way too deep sometimes, and it's not the best thing when being played in a 4-2-3-1. I'd prefer a target man, or a poacher up top. Huntelaar is a better option imo.

Van Persie CF and Sneijder AM.

Get rid of both and start a fresh.....
