He covered brilliantly for Alba,played the sweeper role to perfection and wiped any second ball or throw balls.Very neat display and never really looked nervous like Pique for example.

He had nothing to do? playing a high line is always alot of work. Especially playing in a team that plays a pressing game and leave spaces behind

It's only a lot of work against teams that actually have attacking players who dont have allergies to the penalty area.....

Ramos and Pique did a nice job (the former especially) but truth be told France made it easier than it could have been.

Portugal won't fear them like France did imo so we'll see how thy handle that.

Oh and Josh I told you Benz wasn't going to make any runs, that's just not his game and he's not ready to try things he's not comfortable with in games like these.

when i want to be a complete twat on fifa to someone who's being annoying i do what spain do and just keep the ball. it's the easiest thing ever on the game and the opposition literally cannot ever get the ball from me.

I don't understand what Blanc was doing. He saw how Italy played with a 5 man midfield and matched well attacking Spain, and goes into a terrible French version of a catenaccio. Benzema is terrible as a striker with support, as a lone striker it is like having one less man on the field.

Spain vs Italy was a great match, did Spain play differently in that match? The answer to that is no.

No,no and no.
Ramos is not a sweeper.Not in a million years.Spain didnt really play a high line.In the second half their backline was almsot near the 18 yard box.
And Spain most certainly dont press.They let the opposition defenders pass the ball around.The French defenders passed the ball around quite a lot.
As soon as the French defenders or Lloris had the ball Iniesta and Silva dropped very deep and the French could build up from the back(admittedly they werent very good at it).
There was zero pressing from Spain.

Nice from spain the usual really.

Ramos was outstanding today on D. France had no chance of breaking Spain down!

Xabi scoring two goals was nice, torres letting him take the penalty was awesome. Some people say Spain are boring but they play this way to take the opponent out of the match. If they took more chances they would be winning by more goals.

spain were not very good, but france were totally ineffective. ribery was the only one trying to make a difference. benzema was bad like shit, i got frustrated with him. malouda should not be starting, and playing out of position. the idea of 2 RB was very bad, and the goal came from their side. the fight caused the chemistry to fade away
