Pirlo's had a marvellous tournament while the senile old Del Bosque has used Xavi in the complete wrong place...

Actually no... just watch closer... and look at the players now missing.

Xavi was best in 08... What was he doing then? Playing deep alongside Senna with 4 players ahead of him. If you can't see the difference there you are blind.

Xavi's best position is at CM imo. However for Spain he plays AM, CM and swaps around with Busquets. I think Busquets should be the pure DM for Spain, just like how he is for Barca.

That doesnt actually help your arguement that Xavi can play in the hole, seeing as Xavi was average at the WC as well...

You just need to see this heatmap to see that Xavi plays very different roles for Spain and Barca.
