Yay or Nay?
Should we loan Thiago?
Just been wondering what you guys would answer to that question. It's a bit of a loaded question with many factors. He is having a pretty good run of form, with and without Barca but he still won't be a starter next season. Whether or not we get Cesc, our midfield is pretty loaded but if we do not get Cesc and either half of Xaviesta gets injured, we wouldn't have too much cover with Thiago loaned out. And it would be a whole season of him not creating chemistry with Barca's midfield.
On the positive side however, if he were to be loaned out to a smaller team, he'd practically be a starter and would get to develop, and maybe even become a better player instead of playing for fewer minutes at Barca. Not saying I want it to happen or that there has even been a single rumor (to my knowledge there hasn't been), just wondering what u guys think. Also, I myself could not answer the question, so I just wanted to see different points of view.

Re: Should we loan Thiago?
My answer is quite clear.
If we buy Fabregas this summer to our chagrin we will probably have to loan Thiago. The rate at which he is developing he and his entourage will understandably refuse to place him in a scenario where he will hardly see any minutes. If this happens we have to plan a smart loan of one year. The worst case would be a long loan sale with a decent buy back option. At no cost should we lose him completely and we must make it very clear to him that we trust him a lot and count heavily on him for the future.
If we don't buy Fabregas then no way. In fact he probably would then deserve to be bench option number one for the midfield which easily means enough minutes. Xavi due to his age and even Iniesta due to his injury problems would do well to take some rest from time to time.
Since these are two completely contradictory responses, I couldn't vote in the poll.

Re: Should we loan Thiago?
Barcelona's recent history with youth development, particularly in midfield, is exemplary and I don't believe there's any reason not to believe in the same proven processes for integration into the first team. Iniesta did not suffer from not being made the centre of attention at such a young age, nor Busquets. If he has a future with Barcelona it will be brought out on the pitch, carefully, at the appropriate time. Thiago is still at an age where he can be overplayed and there's no gain to be had in my eyes in taking him out of an environment which has had such prior success in developing youths to their peak. If Cesc does come I would still keep Thiago around personally, at least initially.

Re: Should we loan Thiago?
From what I have read, it seems like Thiago is the most wanted man in football right now. And we are over here trying to get rid of him for injury prone, expensive price Cesc

No.He will get enough time with the ageing of Xavi. The season is long, Guardiola will fit him somewhere.

Re: Should we loan Thiago?
Only Barca users of this forum would make this thread.
When will most Barca fans realise that every team needs depth and world class / very good players on the bench? Madrid stacked their team to the point when Di Maria injury didn't cost them.
messixaviesta thought we should loan Thiago Yeah, let's have zero depth, and let every sub go to other club
I remember that after signing Sanchez (which meant 5 forwards for 3 spots) there were threads about selling Afellay Hopefully some members will finally realise how important having good subs is.

Re: Should we loan Thiago?
Erm...we was playing with 3 midfields and in the squad we had Busi, Iniesta, Xavi, Keita.
It made sense for people to worry about if Thiago was going to get minutes with Cesc coming in.
