Well, there are some teams in Germany that constantly switch between divisions and for these the term "Fahrstuhlmannschaft" (=elevator/lift team) was created Smile

@Mole

Yo-yo team is very fitting, too. As for the promotion - well, that is for the next season, I hope. This season we had to regroup after we lost all but 3 of our players when we went down from 3rd to 4th division.

Today's Semi Final of the Niederrhein-Pokal:

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen - Page 3 Rwo10

TuS 64 Bösinghoven: Sprenger, Pappas, Dauser, Kastrati, Galster, Altenbeck, van den Bergh, Klinger, Purisevic (70., Kourouma), Witte (70., Ndoum), Pranjes

RW Oberhausen: Krol - Caspari, Nowak, Haas, Steuke - Weigelt, Krystofiak - Landers (70., Boachie), Bauder (78., Mützel), Schneider - Terranova (67., Smykacz)

Goals:
0:1 Schneider (14.)
0:2 Terranova (33.)
0:3 Pappas (OG, 41.)
0:4 Terranova (65.)
0:5 Bauder (68.)

FT: TuS 64 Bösinghoven 0:5 RW Oberhausen

That means we are in the final of the Niederrhein-Pokal - and if we win that cup, we are qualified for the DFB-Pokal 2013/14.

Well, I thought I should post a little update after all. The Niederrhein-Stadion lost one of its floodlights, but RWO won the last 2 matches (against BMG II, + 1.FC Köln II), so now the table looks rather agreeable for a change.

Unfortunately not. Sad

The German 4th division (Regionalliga or RL) consists of 5 parts (RL Nord, RL Nordost, RL West, RL Südwest and RL Bayern) and only the 1st of each part plus the 2nd of the RL Südwest are entering the promotion round where these 6 teams then play for 3 promotion berths.

So we have to work hard to win the RL West next season so that we can try to play for the promotion next season... Getting from 4th division to 3rd in Germany is not easy.

So, today's match was a 3:0 win against Hennef. Now we won 2, lost 1 and drew 1 match so far. I hope it will get better as only the winner of the RL West is admitted to the promotion round where one can play for the promotion to the 3rd league.

So, and I think I should upload a nice pic of our Nr.1 (although he wears the #22) for good measure:

Oh, there are even more cute goalies around, trust me. Very Happy But now for the real news:

Derby drama in Essen!

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen - Page 3 Rwe-vs10

This was a real derby fight as usual between RWO and RWE with more than 11 000 people in the stadium in the 4th division.

RW Essen: Heimann - Dombrowka, Neunaber (84. Treude), Weber, Hermes - Soukou, Nakowitsch (18. Arenz), Baier, Grebe - Platzek, Studtrucker

RW Oberhausen: Kühn - Tyler (90. Schiebener), Weigelt, Haas, Herzenbruch - Fleßers, Scheelen - Reinert, Bauder, Schikowski (80. Brisevac) - Jansen

Goals:
0:1 Patrick Schikowski (6.)
1:1 Platzek (25.)
1:2 David Jansen (28.)
2:2 Baier (38.)
2:3 Alexander Scheelen (62.)
2:4 David Jansen (68.)
3:4 Baier (71.)
4:4 Arenz (86.)

FT - RWE 4:4 RWO

And from the 65th minute, RWO were one man down when Patrick Bauder was sent off Sad

Still it was RWE 4:4 RWO at full time, so we at least got a draw in the derby on enermy territory. It's just a pity we couldn't win it in the end.

If I think of Oberhausen, the first thing that comes to mind is Christoph Schlingensief, legendary artist, all around great person, and director of such German film classics as "Die 120 Tage von Bottrop".

RIP Neutral Sad

The second thing are the famous Kurzfilmtage, but Rot-Weiss follows right in third place! Molenation
They might have seen better days, but we can't be too harsh, after all Aleksandar Ristic is retired by now

True about Christoph Schlingensief and the Kurzfilmtage.

And yeah, Aleksandar Ristic is a true legend here. Pity he won't help us out of our deep hole once more Sad

But then, we are one of the proper traditional clubs in the Ruhrpott. It's just our bad luck that the teams around us have grown bigger and more successful and thus the fans and sponsor money flock to them.

Oh, by the way, the short-short version of the last two matchdays (I omitted the match against Uerdingen at MD12 as I hate to report defeats of the "Kleeblätter", especially when they happen at home ^^):

2014/11/02 - Matchday 14:

Bor. Mönchengladbach II 1:2 RW Oberhausen
This was a somewhat lucky last-minute win, but a win nonetheless cheers

2014/11/08 - Matchday 15:

RW Oberhausen 1:1 FC Schalke 04 II

Well, today we didn't manage a fortunate last minute goal after we overcame the initial lead by Schalke II...

After our 2:1 away victory against Victoria Köln in the Regionalliga West, the Niederrhein-Pokal match against TV Kalkum-Wittlaer ended 5:0 for us.

So now we are in the semi final of the Niederrhein-Pokal where we will play our Niederrhein-Derby against MSV Duisburg (who are the current holders of the cup).
