Re: Gerard Deulofeu
Deulo played 40 minutes vs. Liverpool. It seems he did quite well although he missed a one on one. The highlights of the game where there are a couple of moves from him:

I thought he played well.... his finishing needs to improve drastically though.

Nah, he is a very good finisher. Off course, everything can improve, but it's not an area he needs to specially improve. Everyone misses one on ones.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I thought he played well.... his finishing needs to improve drastically though.
However, he is probably lacking confidence right now because he is not a starter, and that is something he really needs to improve: his ego and mentality issues.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
Deulofeu final ball and finishing are a work in progress.... hasn't been good at either with Everton so far. He only has 1 goal and 1 assist so far in 10 appearances. For a player who defends so little and only focuses on the attack, he needs to stuff the stat sheet. If he did other things, it wouldn't be so much an issue. Got those stats against Stevenage and Fulham in the CC competition against crap opposition lineups... has nothing to show in EPL.
Love his talent. But he seems waaaay too arrogant for his current level of achievement. Needs to become more humble and play more fundamentally.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
8 appearences in the Premier League... but just 157 minutes. He is a 1 goal or assist per game player, if given enough minutes. 157 minutes are not even 2 full matches.sportsczy wrote:Deulofeu final ball and finishing are a work in progress.... hasn't been good at either with Everton so far. Re: Gerard Deulofeu
I understand free... that's just the result of the issues. Whenever i see Deulofeu play, and i've watched probably 5-6 Everton games this year... he doesn't track back, he doesn't play simple and he pouts. His fundamentals are very poor. Now, you can get away with that if you were lighting the world on fire with goals and assists. But you can't act like Messi/CR7 unless you produce like them. He's acting the part before he's earned the role.
Great talent. His head doesn't seem screwed on straight right now though. He needs to play for the team as opposed to himself because, ironically, that's the only way he's going to help himself.
No decent team is just going to hand him the starting job. He's going to have to earn it.

Ehm, not really, Pedro is our forward that loses the least balls, tied with Tello.vivabarca38 wrote:Those are the pictures I usually see Pedro in,but as they say,Pictures dont show the whole story. He usually loses thhe ball afterwards.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
I don't care that much about wingers losing a lot of balls. It means they are willing to take the man on and make an impact and try and score.
Of course, when they lose it so often it's wasteful, then you have a problem. I'd rather have a winger who tries to dribble a lot like Deulo and loses the ball more than one that rarely loses the ball because he refuses to attack fullbacks.
Anyway, I didn't see the game but saw highlights and Deulo looked very impressive. Looked like he did at the end of the game he played last week but this time with the end product. Great to see Roberto Martinez putting more faith in him and early signs look good. I'll have to start watching more Everton.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
What an overrated player. His antics are Balotelli-like, yet he is not even good enough to clean Balotelli's boots.
Selfish, complacent and wasteful. Everton should send him back.

He is a prospect, a player that has something good and bad about it. No one overrates him, but we might have higher expectations for him than he can accomplish.danyjr wrote:What an overrated player. His antics are Balotelli-like, yet he is not even good enough to clean Balotelli's boots.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
He's an awful prospect. I rather coach someone with half his talent but one that gives his all than someone with so called "potential" and so much selfishness and indifference.
Don't get me wrong, there are selfish players in the world which get away with it. Such as Cristiano or Robben but their class allows them be selfish because they don't miss chance after chance like Deulofeu.
Personally if I were his coach I'd bench him for at least a month. He clearly plays for himself and you could see Everton players were losing patience with him.

Cristiano isn't the selfish player he was 3 years ago. He changed a lot.

Re: Gerard Deulofeu
An awful prospect, ha.
Just because he missed a clear chance vs Liverpool! today's chance wasn't even clear and he had no line of pass (don't know if he looked though).

It's funny to see people who haven't really watched a player judging him so easily. Deulofeu has a very good finishing and a very good pass (that he doesn't use enough). Not true also that he has a shit strength true.
