Players you think could do well in other positions on the field.

i honestly think di maria would be as good if not better playing as LB than he does at RW. especially for madrid considering he is about as defensive as marcelo but hes faster and has a higher work rate.

could play some killer crosses with his stronger foot. reminiscent of his assist in the CDR final 2 years ago.

Truely great players can actually adapt in any position.

Nani as a ball boy would be perfect for us.

Rannochia can play as a striker

I'm inclined to say Luiz in midfield with a bit of freedom.

I was going to mention this. It'd be interesting to see how Pique would do as a traditional target man.

Victor Valdes can play as an outfield player, but I'm not quite sure where. He has very good ball-skills and is a tremendous futsal player, but that doesn't necessarily translate well into association football.

Marchisio as a fullback
Great engine, has already played as a winger throughout his career (although it was more of a 'wide' midfielder)

He wouldn't be as well suited there but I think he could do it

I'm sure Maradona would've been a success as a deep-lying midfielder.

Del Piero deep lying playmaker

Simone Pepe would be hell of a RB/LB

Lichtsteiner great CF his ball control is amazing

Bonucci great SS , after Pirlo he has the most long passes completed and his dribbling is tbh even better than some of the top strikers lol

Zanetti can be a good...oh wait, he already plays everywhere

Valdes could be a decent DM imo. Good with the ball, physical and when trained can help our defense with aerial presence...
Messi when he becomes old, will eventually become a central midfielder imo. Has the vision, positioning he can do well, passing is great.

I think Di Maria could play in Mid Field, alongside Xabi.
He's got pace and oodles of stamina, he actually isnt afraid to get stuck in with his tackles, and he could be capable of playing the odd long ball out wide, a la Xabi & Scholes (obviously not as good as theirs). Also his dribbling skills and passing ability could be used.

Ibra - CB

Matri can be a very decent defender, if he plays for the opponent.

Del Piero- Pirlo-esque deep midfielder.

Pique- Dani outlined it very well.

Jordi Alba- #10/Striker/Inside forward. Not sure whether this counts as he started as a #10 in La Masia and Emery moved him from wing to fullback so its quite obvious he can play as an attacking player. However, most players move around a bit in development so I'm gonna leave it there.

His understanding of the movements and runs he needs to make as a forward are superb and I could see him devastating teams with those cutting runs behind defenders. Also a very calm finisher, extremely good for a defender and an excellent dribbler and passer.

Yaya- Striker. Yeah, but the guy could probably play anywhere.

Then there are a truckload of wingers/fullbacks who could play the other position. The same goes for ball-playing CBs and CM/DMs.

Marchisio as a trequartista. Excellent dribbling skills and long shots, good passing range and vision. He could even be a second striker thanks to his knack for scoring crucial goals and setting them up, with his smart runs in the box and his ability to take on defenders.

Bonucci and Hummels as registas. Great long passing and vision, and decent on the ball. Thrure also both very composed under pressure, and.being a DM would mean when they daydream which both are known for, it wouldnt result in a goal cuz there would still be the CBs behind them.

Fellaini - any position except on the flanks

Probably the most versatile player in the world

Cruyff said that the really elite players can play well in any position on the pitch.I am quite sure that Messi will be brilliant at any position from CM up.
