Germany V. France Empty Germany V. France

Post by sportsczy Tue Feb 05, 2013 5:43 pm

Starting XI for France:
Lloris-Sagna, Koscielny, Sakho, Evra - Sissoko, Cabaye, Matuidi - Ribery, Benzema, Valbuena

Very dynamic midfield and attack. All 6 can comfortably play multiple positions and roam around. Actually have a good midfield for once lol. Might see Benz actually play some CF for once.

Not sure who starts for Germany...

Germany V. France Empty Re: Germany V. France

Post by rwo power Tue Feb 05, 2013 6:28 pm

Well, the German Line-up is anybody's guess till tomorrow. My guess:

Adler (Neuer is not amused - he wanted to get some more work again and not get bored all the time like in the Bayern goal)
Boateng - Höwedes - Hummels - Lahm
Kroos - Khedira
Müller - Özil - Schürrle
Gomez

I just read that BILD has the following line-up:

Adler
Lahm, Merte, Hummels, L. Bender
Khedira, Gündogan
Müller, Özil, Schürrle
Gomez

I think Philipp Lahm should prolly better play on the left as I doubt that the other options we have have much chance against Franck Ribéry ^^

I know he dont play there for Bayern, but I would consider Muller on the left, Kroos in the middle and Ozil on the right.

Khedira and Gundogan deeper.

I say that because I think Kroos is so good you want him closer to goal, I think he is real dangerous there. A

Well, Toni Kroos has a cannon for his foot, I think he can even nicely score from farther away ^^

The main question is, how many goals will Germany concede?

Too many, I bet. Ribéry will have a lot of fun trying to get onto the score sheet, especially when he doesn't have to fear the wrath of the Neuer Razz

I agree that Giroud should start but not instead of the star player ffs. Benz is the main man on that team.

he may be the "star player" , but whenever i've seen him play for France, he's been shit. Valbuena Ribery, and Giroud have all been much better than him.

then you need your eyes checked lol. Giroud is nowhere near his league. Nice player Giroud... but nothing all that special.

TBH I think the Bild lineup is right.
For some reason, Löw just doesn't think highly of Höwedes, even though he has impressed every single time he got to play.
Podolski is on his way to get the Frings/Ballack-treatment, and even with Klose injured, there is, for some reason, no way Löw is calling up Kießling.

For some reason, Löw is in love with Gündogan, though at least, this I can vaguely understand. I mean, obviously Kroos is the better option there, but Gündogan is still great.
Bender at FB worked at the Euros, though he was RB then, IIRC.

But the no Kießling thing is getting insane, and if Bild is right and Höwedes doesn't start next to Hummels...
Well we're not winning anything in 2014 ^^

BTW Müller, Schürrle, Gomez in front of goal... I don't know, they're all great threats on goal, but not one of theam is a creative player, like Reus. Our attack might end up being pretty static.

France 2 - 0 Germany imho.

Ozil drifts to the right for Germany anyway. So this will probably happen regardless of how they line up exactly.

True, but my thought process was more having Kroos naturally further forward because he is better than Ozil at dropping back and also has comparable ability to play a pass and a great goal threat.

I'm hoping to see this:

Adler
Höwedes Mertesacker Hummels Lahm
Gündogan Khedira
Özil Kroos Podolski
Gomez

I'm leaving Müller out because it's him or Özil and I would definitely prefer a more creative player as there are already 3 goalscorers in my team and there's more creativity needed in the attacking third. Kroos and Podolski with their form are a must in my opinion. Ideally I would play the Bender - Gündogan duo but it's not happening Laughing

Bring Müller, Schürrle, Lars later on as super-subs eco smile

Yeah no shit, with us never caring about friendlies, ever, Löws ridiculous selection, and the only creative forward Löw is willing to start (Reus) missing, we'll get creamed. Add to that the lack of Höwedes and Schweinsteiger in defence.

nah... this game is a toss up. France NT don't really tackle or defend tough when it's a friendly. We mainly want to see how the collective shape looks and how individual players do. We're probably going to change 6 players at halftime too.

This is a true friendly. With CL coming, everyone is goong to be very careful.
