How much did Qatar contribute to the actual games n fans though? Apart from the infrastructure n settings obviously. The football itself has nothing to do with Qatar, perhaps some degree to the quality of the fans. Almsot ruined it a bit in the end with that forced robe Messi had to wear XD

that's a huge part of the tournament. you can't just poopoo infrastructure and setting like it doesn't matter. it has an even bigger impact on quality of the game than you would think. players not getting exhausted from dehydration or transport to games, healthy pitches, luxury hotels, like that's a big part of the quality right there. especially with some of these players who have barely played on a bad field.

i wouldnt say it was my best world cup but Qatar were great hosts, and had the most impactful contribution to the games. i've heard people complain about trumpets, quality of the ball (that was always beckhams spiel when he didnt score a freekick at a world cup), pitch quality, altitude. i barely heard any of those kinds of complaints in this tournament. biggest complaints i heard had to do with referees.
