why is everybody making a big deal about this ? Laughing

we all knew that both messi and ronaldo will break raul's record this season .
let's wait until they both retire and see who's going to end up as the all time top scorer .

but this isn't like the 92 goals record, or ronaldo's 17 goals record when you're in a race against time with only few matches left to reach an unattainable record that could last for decades .

not only this record was predictable and inevitable , but it could be broken as quickly as tomorrow Laughing

It is a race since Ronaldo is his only competitor. Just that, like you mentioned, no one is shoving it down our throats. Not yet anyway.

Messi is awesome though.

...regardless of how important you find it, it's still a record that was active and broken which is why people are talking about it.
and surpassing Raul in a goal record does hold merit despite how obvious it was that it was going to be broken shouldn't take away the fact that messi has surpassed it and soon enough Ronaldo will pass Raul as-well.

Beating Switzerland last year helped Ron make his case last year. Why wouldn't the voters get influenced by Messi breaking two records 72 hours apart, each with a hat trick? Plus you add in he made the World Cup final Messi has himself a case.

(that said, if I was voting I would strongly consider giving it to Neur or Ronaldo over Messi regardless what happens now or for the rest of the season. Both had a better over all year)

From now going forward, for the rest of there careers in the UCL the goals Messi and Ronaldo score will be like Sosa and McGuire that one year they both broke the HR record and were just trying to finish ahead by the end of the year. As a fan this is going to be awesome

Either way it has nothing to do with being a Ronaldo fan, you could have a case if Ronaldo had started poor this season but he hasn't, this is probably the best he has played since he signed for us so to speak

Ronaldo scores hattricks in his sleep, that's not really a big achievement for him it's a hobby

No matter how you spin it Messi should not even be in the top 3 I would be inclined tp say top 5 because a number of other players outperformed him this year
