Harmonica is making it sound like Nerman has some Torres like misses but he only shoots in like 1/10th of those gifs Laughing

Most of the time it''s a result of his first touch not being good enough to make the most out of the situation before defenders can catch up, not his finishing that is at fault.

He has Torres like finishing this season, finishing isn't about shooting alone it's about converting the chance that team dynamic creates, being it touch, control, shot or other skill needed. That's what matters how good goal scorer you are and if your numbers are impressive, his numbers aren't, considering the collective chance's he has got this season. And that's a God's honest truth.

Harmonica, how do you decide what constitutes a "great goal scoring chance"?

Because to be honest most of those GIFs seem to be difficult chances. Had Neymar scored them, it would be more of a sign of world class finishing than him just tucking away easy chances.

Harmonica is right. He's a great goalscorer (unbelievable poaching instincts) but I won't call him a great finisher. Getting all time great service from Messi & occasionally Suarez has inflated his numbers.

@hamonica should we talk about the gazillion missed sitters by messi this season, trust me you do not want to go there. @Gil. Lol, u do realize its more dificult playing with fellow goal hungry world class forwards and putting up these same numbers as opposed to playing with average one's? Or are u trolling or something? Or Should we bring up examples? I thought this was suppose to be common knowlege by now, Have u even been watching football? Lewandowski should be dominating the goal scoring stats putting up insane numbers by now, or cavani, or sanchez (in barca) or henry (in barca) or villa (in barca) or ibra (in barca and juve) or benzema (in real) or bale (in real) or suarez (in barca) robinho (in real) baptista (in real) torres (in chelsea). Your judgement would be worth somethimg were he to be playing in a great midfield like prime 2009-2012 barca or 2004-2006 barca. This barca has no mid ffs, and neymar isnt even their go to player ffs. If it were hazard doing this, u would be singing his name to no end like he were better than coca-cola, so i'm not surprised (even if i know u secretly wish hazard had those same stats) this is a poster who bashes iniesta for not scoring and finds an excuse for scrubzard who is actually a forward for scoring 9 penalties from 18 goals all season while playing more games, yet, bashes some other forward for putting up crazy goal stats vs big and small teams in equal measure (says he's lucky), lol.
Anyway, Neymar is comfortably a top 5 (arguably top 3) player along with suarez and robben, while being the best player in the world for NT and theres nothing you or anyone can do bout it. Except well, feel bitter.

Desperate deflection, which is when you know you lost the argument. I actually think Neymar has been playing slightly better this season, however he's hasn't improved as drastically the score sheets imply. What's changed is that he has prime Messi now creating the chance's for him, and he's concentrating more on goal scoring, which is why his assist stats are actually going down compared last season. His finishing hasn't been good however, at times rivaling with off-form Villa, Pedro and Sanchez.

Neymar with shit finishing is still only 15 goals behind messi despite playing second fiddle to messi and taking no penssi's....looking at the whole picture it is more impressive than what messi did so far this season.

That's paradoxal, as if you're shit finisher you must have many chance's to score many goals in relation.

Messi is marked every game, most marked player in history of the game, and most of his shots are usually blocked by defenders because it's number one priority against Barcelona. He doesn't get that many great chances anymore, he mostly has to create them himself from the midfield, where as Neymar is just waiting usually in open space. Also Neymar missed the only pen he shot this season, that's 0% conversion ratio.

Messi actually shouldn't have the goals he had this season, being the play-maker and controller of the team, he's breaking his dribbling and assists records and still providing over 50 goals. That's prime Messi for you.

If Messi was finishing like Neymar he would have about 20-30 goals this season.

for a guy that's scored 10 goals in 12 international competitive games? lol, and how many does hazard and messi have in competitive games internationally. more so, 42 goals and 24 assists in 61 games in downright insane.
