Yep officially confirmed.But the fee is 8mil plus couple of loan signings. Blackpool demanded 9mil initially but settled for 8mil and Shelvy & Wilson on loan.
Will be good gives us different options in midfield and finally we have a quality set piece taker.With Carroll in the team his deliveries will be more than handful.
Only question is how he will fit into the team

well, it's a normal transfer in the epl, a bargain even, for a good epl player, 25, with potential to get even better at CM, and he is a ridiculous passer, that last one is important, no?

Well in all probability we will shift Aquilani on either loan or sell him.So that leaves us with Meireles,Gerrard,Adam,Lucas,Henderson and Spearing for 3 midfield options.Also with Gerrard,Meireles and Henderson(he is a far better winger than CM) being versatile we will have proper depth in squad for first time in years.Couple of years back we played with Mascherano and Lucas in midfield because we didnt have any depth so not complaining tbh.

midfield overcrowd i would say..meireles,gerrard,adam,lucas and aquilani returning from his loan spell..plus meireles's contract talks have stalled..is there any chance dalglish will deploy a 4-3-3 formation in any case ??and henderson is an AMF which leaves less room for 4-3-3..
aquilani looks sure to leave..but dunno where exactly..this transfer could throw up a possibility of meireles leaving possibly especially with his contract issues unresolved..

The Meireles rumors have died down long ago.And Times even reported only a big offer will persuade us to sell him and we are not looking to sell him as suggested in media.So dont think he is going anywhere anytime soon.Aquilani will surely be shifted IMO and we will probably play

Agreed, i do think Adam is overhyped but from what i have seen of Aquilani over the last few years i think Adam is better.
The problem i have with Aquilani is his consistency he will give you 2 good games then 7 or 8 average/bad ones.
