You can't be a pure poacher with Arsenal. The CF helps a lot with buildup and is expected to make good passes in final 1/3. Remember, Arsenal play a more direct version of tiki taka.

Gomez wouldn't have worked at all. He can barely get his feet sorted unless it's clear shot or tap in.

Bayern a classy club???  LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

I won't take the time to list things... but they block everyone they want to keep from moving even if that player is desperate.

And let's not forget them leaking the Goetze deal right before the CL semi game with Madrid and inviting both Goetze and Lewa (allegedly) to the CL winning party.

No denying in that at all.

Gomez is a brilliant poacher. Can easily score 30 goals with the creativity Fiorentina have. But Arsene would always prefer someone like Higuain. His work ethic and link up play probably won him over.

That's why Heynckes preferred to use Mandzukic over Gomez.

Instead of saying classy let me rephrase and say Bayern are very respectful towards their players.

Bayern facilitating a move for Gomez by accepting a lesser bid is very respectful indeed.

No Zlatan possibility. Here's his agent Raiola yesterday: "110% certain that Ibra is staying with PSG. He will make a great duo with Cavani. If Mourinho wants him at Chelsea? No he is staying 110%. A return to Italy? Yes, but in 10 years."

Reports from Canada that Ryan Nelsen's Toronto FC - next to bottom of the Eastern Conference in MLS - could be about to sign Uruguay striker Diego Forlan. The 34-year-old is currently with Internacional.

Gomez was hellbent on joining Fiorentina. Bayern accepted a bid from Napoli after they grew impatient since Fiorentina was waiting to sell Jovetic before signing Gomez, but Gomez made it clear he would move nowhere but Fiorentina.

No way that it was only 5.1M, there is something under the table going on there Laughing Arsenal and Spurs offered twice that amount.

then again you have to look at another point,Barcelona were desperate to get rid of Villa since there is a clause in his contract that he would earn 11M starting this season

Actually, Cavani=63 m

Gomez=16m
Villa=5.1m
Poli=6.5m
Mkhitaryan=25m
Abidal-free

So yea Cavani costs more than all the major players who moved today.
