Hamburg's defense situation
Anyone familiar with it? Just asking 'cause Bruma joined them on practically a two-year loan and was interested in knowing what chances he has for first team experience.

Re: Hamburg's defense situation
Didn't Hamburg sign Mancienne?
So your loanee would be in competition with a former player.

Mancienne is more than a CB though he can play multiple positions (RB, Defensive Mid)

He can, but so can Westermann, right?
Centre back is definitely Mancienne's best position.

Yes but Bruma is better than Mancienne.

Re: Hamburg's defense situation
Then Bruma plays alongside Westermann in Hamburg's defence next season. Mancienne backup.

But are Hamburg ready to install him that quickly?? I doubt it...I mean, he has potential but he's still a youngster with a few things to work on
Don't Hamburg have money to buy another CB?

Re: Hamburg's defense situation
Bruma will be fighting an uphill battle to be a starter every week, no doubt. Westermann will practically be irreplaceable as captain and obviously by far the best player of the whole bunch, and while you simply state that "Bruma > Mancienne", consider that Mancienne is on a solid deal and will be at HSV a couple seasons and beyond, while Bruma will be out the door in either 12 or 24 months back to London. HSV have a far greater incentive to go with Mancienne and giving time to settle, even if Bruma is the better of the two (which I doubt we know for sure after his 10 or so games of actual being on the pitch). Full back is covered well for HSV, but there's a possibility that Mancienne could sneak into central midfield.
Just my two cents, hope the deal works out for all parties.
