Great news all around.
There is finally a "cheaper" iPhone but you aren't getting a lower end model. It's an improvement from the iPhone 5 which is still a great phone.

Because most fingerprint scanners are bust seeing as this is Apple's first attempt I fear they will have the same fate. Hopefully not as crappy as HP's scanners they had on their laptops.

Is Retina display not HD? Okay.

The 5c isn't cheaper.... it's $549 off contract... you can get a nexus for under $350

What's the benchmarks for these phones. How do they hold up against the top phones of Windows, Android, and Apple? They don't.

Then again there is a phone for everyone. And the person who is never careful only cares about that. But we know that we would never use em considering what we currently have in our pockets instead

Have you seen the Xperia Z or Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active both are amazing top end phones both water proof

I'm sorry, but Apple has never said they're going to make a "low cost" iPhone. Blame the rumors and speculations from Wall Street among others for setting false expectations in your head.

It's cheaper on a two year contract here in the states. And that's what they were going for instead of just price dropping an "older" model.

And if an iPhone 5 ($649) still sold out the asshole international, it would only make sense that the 5c hell even the 5s will too.

Isn't everything expensive in Australia anyway?

Sony is beginning to stream line there releases it seems they are sticking with the Z line rather then releasing all sorts of variants which was there problem in the past in regards to keeping there phones updated, and there Xperia skin for android is probably one of the closest skins to stock android available in a none stock android device, there is barely any bloatware....the Xperia skin is praised for it`s simplicity in fact.

and the phone will ship with 4.2.2 which will likely receive a update to 4.3 in the following weeks....very few none stock android devices are running 4.3 right now.
