Karim Benzema

Started in a 4222 and then went to a 4333 (where Benz got hot) and now we're back to a 4222.  It's pretty clear what he can and can't do.  As soon as he's asked to be more of a 9 and less a playmaker, he has a hard time...  mainly because he defers too much to CR7 and you can't defer to anyone as a 9; need to be super aggressive to succeed in that role.

Not saying that Madrid should acquiesce to Benz... but you also have to understand a player's personality and strengths.

With Mourinho, we were mostly a quick strike and counter attack team, which scrambles the roles.  So it didn't really matter what the formation was on the attack... it was a more a defensive setup.  But when you're in a system that is looking to build up, then the system matters.

Again these debates are a waste of time since higs was a pure 9 and he didn't take us to another level when he played either, he still got off the same amount of shots, even tho his runs are a million times better than benzema, better finisher etc, and rooney>both yet he sucked when he was with cr and beasted after he left, so who ever comes its gonna be the same, but I get it making fun of benz is super funny for some reason

He should take shots he's in the position to take. That's the part of his game I assume most are dissatisfied with, but that don't need to translate to regressive decision making on the pitch.

We got our fair share of that already.

le sam I can see where your coming from, but at the end of day benz has to gain confidence for himself and know that its alright to have go without any backlash, he makes the right decisions 9/10 anyway that better than you can say for half the team tbh.

4-3-3 has been better for Benz

I am usually very critical of him but I think even if he doesn't score he is going to do so much more than just scoring. You could see that in our game a week or so ago where he didn't score but had a great game

I never thought I'd say this but I am extremely happy with him right now. Hustling players, coming down to defend, goes left/right and doesn't just stay in one place lkke he used to do, comes down to collect the ball when he doesn't see it and most importantly shoots from outside the box

has carlo's choice of taking him out early in some games benefitted him??? yes absolutely. He doesn't look exhausted at all

if we are going to go far in CL and challenge for the league and copa we need him balling because out of the front three he has the best link up play

hope he doesn't go reverse ninja on me by going back to his lazy self
