Luis Fabiano was better than Fred and we know where that went in the last WC. Brazil has great to World Class players in all positions bar their striker. Fred can do the job, but Diego Costa is the better all-around player - that doesn't necessarily mean he would have fitted into Brazil's squad system though. I don't think he will start for Spain either with Negredo bossing it in the PL.

We've all seen him in Europe earlier in his career, we know what he's capable doing and what not. We also watch Brazil matches, you're not the only one.

Fred was never and still isn't better than Costa right now, that doesn't mean Fred isn't capable leading the line for Brazil, it just means Costa is better.

Brazilians here will not understand that Espananoles themselves do not want Costa on our XI unless they are Atletico fans. VDB and the media general were behind the move for Costa, thus his inclusion. Spaniards want Negredo, Llorente and Fabregas up front just by choice.

I do not rate Jo and never will yet Fred deserves my respect as well as yours, given the circumstances he had to fight in order to start for the starting Brazil XI. Very intelligent CF.

That stat doesn't include all players...

Pedro has 37% conversion rate in La Liga this season [40% in all comps].

Also Cristiano scored 18 goals from 123 shots in La Liga this season [14.6% conversion rate]
Diego Costa 19 goals from 57 shots = 33.3%
Suarez 19 from 77 = 24.6%

Depends if Atletico win a major trophy this season. If they don't I can see a top English club paying the release clause and Costa leaving. Maybe Arsenal/Chelsea.

I am willing to bet that his release clause will be something like 60 millions by the summer, i.e. he will renew his contract soon. Same for Koke.

You could say the same about any forward playing for Atletico Madrid given the same amount of minutes and service. Id recon he would flop here in EPL if he were to leave.

Its insane how someones value can go through the roof because of one good season. Id pay 15m€ and even that is taking a risk.

I think his current goal tally is impairing people's rationality. He's not worth more than 30-35m atm. If he continues this form for a couple of more seasons, then sure. A much better player in Aguero went for 40m after 3-4 good seasons.
