Timo Werner - Germany's Future Striker
17 years old
4 goals (5 w/o disallowed goal) and 4 assists in 881 minutes (played mostly out of position on the wing too, from what I've seen)
2x Bundesliga player of the week (of the Spieltag in Germany)
Kind of a short video and a month old already, but the best one I could find (he's had plenty of other nice scenes):
Can't wait till he's the starting striker for the German national team. It's going to be glorious. He's literally the perfect fit.

Goal against VFL Wolfsburg at the weekend (had two, actually, but one was disallowed):

Re: Timo Werner - Germany's Future Striker
I think we should take him to the World Cup, even if he's only 18 years old then. He'll be a nice option to have even if still very young, and wouldn't be an offensive flow killer like Mario Gomez, for example.
Opinions?

It's amazing how he matured and improved his game in these six years. Top player.

Re: Timo Werner - Germany's Future Striker
Stop hyping 17 year old players guys, haven't you seem enough of them fizzle out to know better? If he keeps it up until he's 20 he's the real deal.

He won't fizzle out. You can see it in face and his mannerisms (an incredible work rate to boot). He just has that fire inside of him. You can see it in every single game not just in spurts. You just know he's going to be a great player when you watch him.

Tbh similar things have been said of the majority of young talents that have failed over the years.Fuchsteufelswild wrote:He won't fizzle out. A guy called Timo Werner isn't going to amount to anything. His ceiling is Cacau.

im hoping we take a look at him. we need fast young players to replace the aging frontline.
Re: Timo Werner - Germany's Future Striker
Looking good in this game vs the Saudis... very mobile and link up play, he looks a bit small though to be a big physical presence though?

Re: Timo Werner - Germany's Future Striker
Werner is good but will be outshoned by Reus imo, dude looks like he wants to make up all the tournaments he missed.

5 years later and offensive flow killer, Mario Gomez is still in the starting XI

Nah TImo is great, he moves well, he is really fast and his link up is very good. He needs to improve his finishing but the skill package is higher than a lot of young CF.
