Barcelona being charge for tax fraud?

The prosecution in charge of the barca case sent a letter to a judge this morning asking that barcelona fc be charged for tax fraud. they are accused of not reporting the entirety of the contracts that led to the signing of nerman. Fraud estimated at 9.1 millions euros.

It gets worse than that... the Spanish judiciary has just ordered a full investigation of FC Barcelona for "fraud against the public treasury." They can go beyond the scope of the initial issue and investigate everything now. Similar to when the IRS catches you for something and then has the ability to check into everything as a result.

There is nothing the club can do now to stop this.  This is the same procedure that brought to justice the daughter and son-in-law of the King of Spain recently.

What will the punishment be if they can prove foul play?

Hefty fine and a slap on the wrist, or..?

 Jail for the executives involved.  This is a criminal investigation.  The civil portion won't start until the criminal investigation and verdicts on that side are reached, if any...

Canal+ in France did a massive investigation and airing a show about the Neymar case on Wednesday.... they showed a 3 min sneak just now.  According to Canal+, the transfer cost was €96 million for Neymar... once the full thing comes out and available on youtube, i'll post it.

Completely ripped Barca apart in the peak... called out the club in a big way. Should be fun to get the reactions here once it's seen

Because the fee was probably too high to pay for the player and, more importantly, a big part of it apparently went to the player's dad, like, what do you call it, in Finnish it's "grease money", paid under the table to make things go smoothly.

No but Canal+ is a major TV network in France and its their news department that's doing the show... not some TV show.  It's a standalone short documentary piece on the Neymar transfer that's going to be aired.

The big issue is FIFA.  They apparently got paid off to close their eyes on the deal... it's illegal to make a deposit on a player in advance in world football transfers.  So if that 10 mil initial payment is proven, FIFA has to do something... except they got their pockets lined too That's why they refused to release documents to the Spanish judiciary and now the demand had been made to the EU to enforce the document request to the EU.

Barca is trying so hard to make this go away... Rosell resigns and now a 9 mil "voluntary" payment to the Spanish tax authority. But all they're doing is giving extra legs to the case

So both Messi and Barca tried to avoid paying tax, got caught and 'voluntarily' payed a sum of money to pay back what they owed and for it to be swept under the carpet smh

16 millions in other shaky commissions

I must say, Rosell's dealings haven't exactly covered the club in glory, but RM fans shouldn't throw stones in glass houses.
