As a Torino sympathizer I would be happy to see them there, but I think it's bullshit that FFP gets applied to small teams like Parma but not to the Cities, PSGs and Chelseas of the world.

If Parma cannot pay the fees they own to other clubs or other bills, like wages or whatever, that's worse than a rich club overspending but without difficulties to meet their obligations.

Biggere clubs are provided time to keep their financial papers in order.

Parma payed the fine, but it was not within the time limit for Europe. This fine was only 250K, which is peanuts to the amounts of money the oil clubs play with.

Parma has 226 players under contract, of course most of them are on loan elsewhere, this is the real anomaly.
and Imho Uefa doesn't like expecially this thing.

Parma have how many? That's insane.

Still, it would be very disappointing if Parma were to essentially miss out on the opportunity to play in Europe on a technicality. Particularly given that Torino are unlikely to perform as well in their stead.

I can tell you straight away, both small & big clubs in Italia benefit from co ownership, it's actually what kept clubs like Parma, Sassusolo, Torino a float for years. It's how small club earn money w/o too much risk & big club not losing talents to foreign leagues or other rivals.

Yeah Parma has lots of players I actually never heard of, loaned to Serie B, lots of South American clubs, that's actually how the club made money by trading ownership/loaning. It's shady in lots of cases but Parma already accounted for all of players. Leonardi has eyes for that kind of business, that's how Udinese was doing for a while as well when he was employed there.

I won't play down Torino quality since they're good side, it's just that it's all Cerci- Immobile partnership, once they leave which is likely, Torino is left with Meggiorini who is more like defensive forward.

Absolutely devastated, felt much worse than when we got relegated. All the passions, hard work from players, fans and clubs in general got pissed on by this ridiculous decision. The club is not in debt, sustain its own by their "local" owner, paid out 12 freaking million for license and only 250k short for loan/ "advanced payment"; it's misunderstanding of those 2 terms and we got punished for that.

I just hope FIGC takes a cold hard look at the severity of this sentence. Parma only has something closed to 10k season ticker holder, with Europe that number is expected to rise but now will probably halved. Good players will leave, that's for sure now, players like Palleta, Cassano, Parolo. Don will definitely leave, he was waiting for the appeal but now Milan might change their heart and call him in. And worst of all, the owner might leave over this and I will not be surprised if he does. He's truly passionate owner who care for the club, this is pretty much how FIGC gave a big "*bleep* you" to him after what he did to revive & run a club successfully, free of debt & healthy. This could potentially destroy a football club. Meanwhile shit loads of clubs are in debt but no worries, lets crush the one on the rise.

This is *bleep* up but to go out of Europe due to Cerci penalty is a lots less painful than this decision.

I have no more hope for Italian football if it continues to be run by corrupted morons up top.

Sorry Twoism. It really is an injustice. Parma deserve to play in Europe next year. Hopefully this appeal works out.

Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has confirmed that he will put the club up for sale as of July 1.

The Crociati enjoyed a stunning campaign last time out, finishing in sixth place and qualifying for the Europa League.

But after an unpaid tax bill, the FIGC revealed that they would not grant the Ennio Tardini outfit a UEFA licence to play in the competition. The Veneto side appealed the decision to the High Court, but it was announced yesterday that the sanction would be upheld.

As such, Torino, who finished in seventh, have been given the Europa League place, and Ghirardi has admitted that the team is now up for sale.

“I wanted to convene this conference to be a bit more clear on what has happened,” he told gathering reporters.

“The UEFA licence problem is due to the stadium and overdue debts with other clubs, that we have honoured to the last penny.

“We have submitted all the necessary documents. On April 30 we were contacted by COVISOC at 13.30 that day to say there was a small irregularity.

“I spoke to them personally, and they told me that the tax on nine incentives [in players’ contracts] had not been paid.

“We have so many players, young players that sometimes you can’t remember. But you have to pay the tax on that. I’ve been here for seven years and I have always done that.

“No one said anything to me until April 30, but I am convinced that we have paid – we have fulfilled our requirements.

“I won’t name names, but I was advised on what to do by members of the Federation. This is the truth.

“No one can deny that. There are phone calls, messages, emails. I have spoken with the League and the Federation, who gave me directions on what to do.

“And that has led to the failure to give us a UEFA licence. My staff have done everything by the rules.

“Only a fool would think that this is an act of cunning to save €300,000, after spending €13m and now losing €8m.

“When I am calmer I will assess who will reimburse me for these damages.

“We are good people who run a good house. But they have managed to push me away from the game. I’m done with football.

“I’m done. I’m resigning as Parma President, and as of July 1 a new story will begin.

“Parma is now for sale.”

I listened his words, he was almost going to crying .
I am sure he is sincere , really sorry for this vicissitude also because it is another bad figure for Italian football.

Empoli  promoted in Serie A ! His last Serie A league played was in 2007 2008 .. so we have the other promoted directly in Serie A after the Palermo

Latina = Never been in Serie A
Cesena = last time was in 2011-2012
Modena = last time was in 2003-2004
Crotone = Never been in Serie A
Bari = last time was in 2011-2012
Spezia = last time was in 1943-1944

That's awful from Parma. I really feel for football staff here. They all worked so hard to get into Europe only for the front office to completely bottle it. What must the fans be thinking?
