I think that Atletico Madrid's player individually are very underrated.

I know that having good defenders is not enough and the way the whole team sacrifices and defends as a unit is what makes a defense solid, but that doesn't mean that Godin and Miranda aren't excellent centerbacks and another reason why Simeone's defensive system looks so unbreakable.
Or for example Arda Turan, Koke, Gabi are never considered when mentioning WC attacking midfielders or midfielders. I mean, none of them are in the Ballon d'Or shortlist

Despite how good Simeone is, you're going to need extraordinary players if you win a Liga over Real and Barca and a last minute corner goal away from the CL.

it's hard to hate on simeone when he takes his underdog team to new limits hoping he flops this sunday though

It's all hype, greizzmann, gabi, turan, and godin are all great players just to name a few. They're just not as hyped up yet

Interesting. If they don't play football, what sport do they play? Please consider your answer carefully as whatever sports you pick, that would be the sport Madrid also played on Wednesday. you can't have one team play footfall and the other playing a different sport. So please elaborate. Don't hold back. Enlighten us on this phantom sport Atletico play.

Just because he's a Madrid fan doesn't mean he doesn't have a point...

What Simeone has done is incredibly impressive and we all love seeing an underdog succeed, but they haven't gotten this far by playing the best football in the world. They work hard, defend well, and are incredible at set pieces. Saying they don't pay football is obviously an exaggeration fueled by the frustration of outplaying a team and then losing 2-0, but the point is a valid one.

i disliked it too when barcelona faced chelsea in the champions league but to take away the achievement because you didn't like their style of play is dumb and bitter.
especially considering atletico madrid's track record when they face madrid/barcelona in the past two years you cannot pin that on luck or lack of skill.

they found a way to win and are winning doesn't matter how much possession they hold or not.
