Isco as a false 9

The idea of Isco becoming a false 9 sounds logical at the moment when Benzema keeps flopping. I really don't think Benzema is deliviring in his role anymore which is to provide and occasionally, score. Benzema used to be more involved in plays, and while he still is racking up the assists, that's the only thing he is doing right now.

Isco showed us at the beginning of the season that he can score, but had trouble assisting. He is more involved in our plays than Benzema is and is even a more efficient scorer. If he somewhat quicky learns the basic of a striker, I think Isco could be a even more efficiant option at the top as a false 9 for us.

dude are you serious? i'm not a benzema fan by any stretch of the imagination, in fact, i have very little faith in him ...but he is fantastic at the moment and isco has been poor....calling for isco to play a false 9, when he hasn't fully mastered his attacking midfielder role (i know i know we dont necessarily use an attacking mid in our 4 3 3 ) is just pointless. u might not like benzema and that's okay, and hell i can understand that...but to go a as far as call for isco as a replacement, when benz has been playing well, then the hate is just clouding your judgement

Okay the timing is horrible, but I still stand by this. Think this is better than sticking by Benzema for the rest of the season. I saw today and Benzema missed 2 great chances, still don't think he played good enough for us. Would rather have Isco as a false 9 and depend on Bale-Ronaldo to score for us instead tbh til we can get a proper striker.

Benzema's done fine this season and it would be risky trying someone in a new position at this stage of the season. Maybe Isco can play there as a sub or whenever Benzema isn't starting.

Benzema is playing at his 2011-12 level ffs. Isco doesn't have any place in the team considering how good we are at the moment. Modric and Di Maria are marvelous, while BBC are perfoming very good. Jese is better than him, even if Isco seems to recover his August-September form. He can still play an important part this season, since we will have a lot of tough matches coming.

I'm more worried about Casemiro, who really deservers more chances

Benzema is finally playing like an actual striker. Making runs, scoring goals and shit, and you complain

dude seriously everyone can have an opinion, but its obvious you don't have a point and cr missed better chances tonight too, isco is not better than benz at anything except dribbling and maybe first touch.

I will never understand this strange hate for benzema the guy is on 20 goals and 11 assists you want him to be dropped , and you wonder why people don't take madrid fans seriously and i think we only care about the name on the jersey than the players themselves or the team.

i fully support the idea of selling him in the summer (albeit for different reasons), but a thread literally can't get more stupid than this. It's like a Gil thread, but with his deft sarcasm replaced by sincere stupidity.

Isco is a great alternative at false 9, much better than we have had in previous seasons. His role will never be to be a striker, it will be to ignite the attack when conventional means fail us.

not only i'd keep benzema as real's main striker, but i'd use benzema as an actual number 10 instead of isco if i had to .

I know benz first touch is very good but when he is low on confidence it can be horrible tbh, anyway its pretty obvious that benz simply isn't fashionable any more, fans like se7en shows this benz had been consistent all of 2014 and he still wants him to be dropped cause isco has more hype .

Don't think Isco has the tactical know-how to pull off the rather intricate position that is the False nine. The french billy goat is doing his thing well so this really is a badly timed thread...

Benzema was excellent yesterday Isco in all his sub appearances bar against Elche has been woeful. Why should HE be played over Benzema???

This is actually the first time Benzema is in contention fir MOTM and people are trying to convince ushe wasn't good enough. Sure he missed many chances but I like the fact he got into position to take them in the first place and not somewhere in between our midfielders. smh

Well, Carlo's now talking about getting Isco to adapt to be like a new Clarence Seedorf... Be patient and see if Carlo can change his playing style effectively. The great thing about Isco is that he certainly possesses a lot of talent and a ridiculous foray of skills. And, he's still very young (ergo adaptable).
I would be excited to see what becomes of him, if Carlo can pul it off. Because Isco could develop into the ideal compliment to Modric.

Obviously, at this point though, Isco cannot replace any of our regular starters (Front 3 and midfield 3 are unstoppable) atm, but if he gets a few minutes, he could prove a better fit to the puzzle than Di Maria or even (although, frankly unimaginable) Luka Modric.

I can see him taking Di Maria's role, however not Modric. Isco isn't really a deep CM who starts attacks etc. More of a final third player player/attacking CM.

He is young... We can't expect results immediately. Carlo is great at developing midfielders, along with Seedorf he was vital to Pirlo's development aswell. Isco will shine for us next season and become even greater the season after (if i have to predict)
