I mean... there is no way he can do what Redondo can.
He certainly doesn't possess that kind of mobility.
He would never be able to take a free midfield role like Redondo.

Something I just learned, I didn't realise Matic part of a swap deal with Benfica.

I didn't realise that Chelsea had originally bought him for 1.5m.. then traded him + £21m for Luiz in a swap deal.

They then purchased him back for £21m (again) as we all know.

Suddenly the sale of Luiz doesn't seem like such great business for Chelsea after all. The two stupid fee's effectively cancel each other out.

Except that you didn't make massive money off DL4.. Luiz for 21m + Matic.. Then bought Matic back for 21m again..
So Chelsea basically undervalued Matic when they sold him..

To think the club were criticised in January for shelling out £21m to bring him back after essentially letting him walk for free 3 years earlier. That sum looks like highway robbery now.

I would say that critic was understanding enough, I mean we all didn't know how good he was till he came back unless you watched Benfica's games on a regular basis. That's if he even was this good for Benfica.

Best DM in the world. Thankfully, he's been injury free so far. We're always shaky without him. Need to get a solid cover/partner for him in the summer. Khedira would be my choice if Madrid are letting him go.

His partnership with Fabregas could potentially match or even better Scholes and Keane.

Woeful start to the season. He looks shockingly bad.

Only had 1 good season at the top level and we was already crowned king of the position.
