ANOTHER player injured in training under Hodgson, Henderson this time. Is it still improper to question his antiquated approach and practices?

Nope. He IS antiquated and just rubbish.
3 training injuries. No doubt more will come after the Switzerland game.

How does woy still have a job? England had pretty much their worst WC ever.
What will it take for him to get sacked?

I'm not bothered if Hodgson is criticised, but reports say it was picked up "turning away from a tackle". Seems more like bad luck than anything.

3 injuries mate. No reason players should be putting in hard tackles in training regardless, but after a handful of injuries already and it being early in the season there's absolutely no reason to be risking anything and that's as much for England as it is for the clubs.GoonerJay29 wrote:I'm not bothered if Hodgson is criticised, but reports say it was picked up "turning away from a tackle". Not really, no. But he's English and an old boy so he has allies and friends in certain sections of the media and the FA.

Hodgson has managed 981 games for a win ratio of 43%. I'd say his level is about England's to be fair.

After the Capello fiasco the FA have vowed to use English coaches only after getting criticised for not using their own by the fans/football experts
It's definitely going to be an English coach, probably Redknapp if he is still interested after being overlooked last time. Southgate is another option or Gary Neville

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V2
With expectations at an all time low and more and more apathy seeping in, the FA could choose whoever they want and I doubt many would really care. I don't think many would be opposed to a foreign coach again so long as he can speak decent English.
Hodgson's got the job to 2016, anyway. He'll only get sacked if England do horribly bad in qualifying.

Greg Dykes has been moaning about clubs not using English players more. Them choosing a foreign coach wouldn't set a very good example

Tony Pulis is the best choice for me, I am not sure about his country but name sounds pretty much English, you have to think out of the box to solve this England NT problem

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V2
Pulis is Welsh. Besides, I wouldn't trust him at all with some of the attacking talent England has at the moment.
Dyke may want an English manager but when you're only viable candidate is Harry Redknapp, you're probably better off expanding the scope of your search slightly.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V2
England's problem is hype IMO. I don't know where I read it but young English players don't want to play for the youth teams and make themselves "unavailable" for selection because they think they are too good for it. When you look at other youth teams like Spain for example, kids like Sarabia and Muniain are still playing with them and bust their backsides off for them even though they are key players for their clubs (qualifying for cl in muniains case), there isn't the same culture in England. They get hyped up too much at a young age and when they fail to deliver they get criticed
