It's hilarious how Wenger snubbed Fabregas and Song yet both are better than anything they have in those positions. Laughing

Will certainly get a nice fee for Song next season. He would improve every EPL team bar Chelsea. lol

Diafra Sakho is doing extremely well so far, I'd say he's their best signing of the summer so far alongside Kouyate.

He had a reputation for being better going forward than defending and it's not like I rated/rate him but he'd still be an improvement over Flamini and Arteta to add some defensive steel to your midfield, even if he's not a conventional holding mid.

Great to see Song doing well, although just from the comments, I didnt watch the game Razz

Must have been an amazingly unlucky for Man C from the highlights though, that second goals thx to goal line tech. nowaday yet again, proved to be so useful in so many incidents already! And hitting the crossbar twice. But Man C's defense still the same, just not solid enough.

Silva goal though, class!

If Man U dont beat Chelsea, they really going to walk the league?

No chance I'm watching the 2nd half of the Lpool Hull match.

Poor quality match played like a testimonial with 0 atmosphere.

Liverpool dominated the entire match but have no finish. Teams know they can just foul us like mad in the final third too because we can't score a set piece to save our lives. Ah well at least we dominated and kept a clean sheet.

Valencia has done good, but not 20m good.

On the other hand Diafra Sakho is a real beast so far, worth every penny spent on him.

BTW, since my Wilshere thread was hijacked and some of my posts erased I thought this would be the proper thread to post in.

It seems on the Arsenal board they can have a sane and reasonable discussion on if Arsenal are a better side with Jack Wilshere in the lineup or on the bench.

Some people even started to look at the numbers I have been saying all year are trending terribly against Wilshere.

Just to prove how correct I was and am, below you will find a quite shocking statistic.

Arsenal Goal Differential

With Wilshere in the game -9

With Wilshere on the bench +15

Oh yea, I forgot.  With Wilshere on the bench not only are Arsenal bagging goals like crazy, they almost never get scored upon.

I'll be entertained to see how the fanboys and delusional masses can explain this away.

Good luck and Godspeed.

Post by DuringTheWar Sun Oct 26, 2014 12:58 am

Correlation doesn't equal causation, most youngsters with an education know this. Most people without an education can also summon the intelligence to figure that out for themselves.

But ok an explanation? Three games wilshere didn't start this season and we won: Aston villa, Galatasaray, Sunderland

-Aston villas entire squad was sick going into the game.
-Sunderland had just been ripped to frickin pieces 8-0 by Southampton, in addition to which, neither goal we scored had the slightest thing to with midfield, balance, or anything really, just two individual mistakes by their players that gave sanchez two chances to score.
-The galatasaray manager got his tactics completely wrong, anyone who saw the match knows this, there was space everywhere for arsenal.

Then some matches were we did "better" after wilshere was subbed: Crystal palace, Tottenham, Anderlecht, hull.

Crystal palace: We scored a last minute scrappy goal from a scramble in the box as a result of throwing everything forward.

Tottenham: With wilshere we conceded due to flamini giving the ball away (how is that his fault or a result of balance?) After he was subbed we scored, but don't forget arteta and Ramsey had also been subbed out as well, and we had created chances before wilshere was subbed out.

Anderlecht: Awful performance by everyone including wilshere, we subbed out our midfielders and threw everything forward in the last 10 minutes. We were lucky not to concede at least two goals due to being completely lopsided, but we in fact managed to score two. The first was a cross by our right back across the pitch to our left back who volleyed in, absolutely nothing to do with midfield or our balance, it only happened due to committing everyone forward. The second was also nothing to do with our midfield or balance.

Hull: After wilshere is subbed sanchez goes on a mazy dribble to destroy hulls midfield/defence and set up welbeck to score. Again it's a last minute goal at the end of the game when we were throwing everything forward.

How did I do sir? Have I convinced you of the basic well known principle that correlation does not equal causation? Btw, don't Barcelona have an awesome looking record when messi doesn't play? What are your thoughts about that?
