How highly do you rate Afellay?

This guy is one we dont talk about, while he is a very good player, and he was mainly a rotation player for barca. He often starts for Holland NT, and plays very well.

How highly do you rate him?

I actually rate afellay very highly. Very skilled and speedy, his passing is also awesome. In think he needs more playing time at barca.

He's good but the only guy he has a chance of displacing is Pedro who seems to be a favorite there... I think skill wise he is better than Pedro but Pedro is efficient, why fix something if ain't broken?

I rate him fairly highly, however mostly in attacking or even central midfield, before the wings. I think he'll be a decent back-up for Barcelona playing higher up the field, however he won't fulfil his potential in this position. Given who they are likely to present these chances to however, in Thiago and possibly Cesc, it's probably a worthy sacrifice.

Watching him at the world cup, he impressed me. He is being wasted at Barcelona as a rotation player when he could be getting more opportunities elsewhere

Besides that, what others have said; Afelley is more skilled than Pedro... Except Pedro has enough Barca DNA to be > to Rooney + Ronaldo + Robben.

I love watching afellay play, he brings a ton of energy off the bench and the versatility that Barca needs from a sub given their relatively weak bench, and i feel that he has not been utilized to his full potential yet by pep. Would really like to see what he could do if he got regular playing time. And dont forget that the transfer fee was only 3m! overall great buy for barca.

He's a good player reduced to bench duty at Barca. Nothing great, but a solid player most clubs would start.

he would be rated much higher in everyone's books had he gone to a club where he could be apart of the starting xi.

not looking like hes going to have a breakthrough season while sitting on the bench though.

Great player with potential.
He could easily start in some strong teams however in teams like Barca, Real, Man U, etc he’s destined to have a supplementary role for now

I don't care to partake in the constant crying between Real Madrid and Barcelona. As a neutral watching the game, his dusting of Marcelo changed the entire complexion of what was going on.
