Really? Huh.
And here I always was, correcting people that Hitzfeld is German, and now I get it wrong with Schmidt...

Made Ribery German, brought Lewandowski "home," claimed Schmidt for Germany and launching an assault for De Bruyne in two months. It's happening again.

What blind, blind fools we've been.

Maybe we'll stop if you just keep us calm by giving us Hazard?

In 2015 we appease them with Hazard.

In 2016 they're dancing beneath the Arc de Triomphe with the Euros in hand.

In 2018 they look east and having learnt from their mistakes, they take Russia in the summer.

Now I'm starting to realise why rwo wants Di Matteo sacked so much. Hold on Robby, you're our only hope to bring them down from the inside. Molenation

We thought partition would keep us safe. Unfortunately you can't divide and conquer in the Bundesliga as everyone supports all 18 teams.

Exactly.

Schalke, Stuttgart and Hamburg. Terrible clubs. Thank god two thirds are on their way out, and next season the stadium formerly known as Adolf-Hitler-Kampfbahn can then host exciting games against Heidenheim.

there is clearly a xenophobic conspiracy to get RDM axed from his job .

i wonder if he would've received the same treatment if his name was Robert Von Matthäus hmm

Well, in 2015 in the "Rückrunde", Schalke managed to collect a whopping 15 points in 13 matches, winning 3 games and scoring monumental 10 goals and getting 13 goals against when being coached by RDM.

Roberto di Matteo Sack Watch - Page 6 S04-rd11

Jens Keller, on the other hand, got Schalke 30 points in the first 13 matches of the "Rückrunde" 2014, winning 9 of the games and having them score 24 goals, while they got only 10 goals against. :coffee:

Roberto di Matteo Sack Watch - Page 6 S04-jk11

The number of injured players was pretty much the same, as Schalke fight with injuries for a long time now. So RDM does not only win less matches, he also scores far less goals and even the defense allows more goals than in the same time with Jens Keller.

By the way, this is the Rückrunde 2012/13, MD18-30:
Spoiler:
Even then Jens Keller's results were better than RDM's in the comparable time frame (except for the number of goals against).

BTW, if you wonder why I use the Rückrunde - the Hinrunde is not really comparable as in 2012/13, Jens Keller took over from Huub Stevens at matchday 18, while in 2014, RDM took over from Jens Keller on matchday 8.

By the way, Schalke play desolately again against the (now former) 18th placed team of the Bundesliga, VfB Stuttgart... After one hour playing time, they are 1:2 down at home. Julian Draxler and Max Meyer were on the bench for whatever reason, and only now RDM subbed in Draxler.

Jens Keller lead Schalke into the CL twice, and now it looks as if RDM will even miss an EL qualification spot.

Today he lost in Köln and Schalke are on the 6th place, only 2 points better than Dortmund who started the Hinrunde at the last place of the table...

So. Schalke lost 2:0 in Hamburg (!!) and ended in the 6th place. This means they will have to start in the 3rd qualification round (!) of the EL if Dortmund win the DFB-Pokal next weekend.

I'm really curious if the board will keep Horst Heldt and RDM after the dismal showing in this season...
