Welé!!!

This felt like 2013-14, back to basics Thumbs up

We showed great resilience today, good defending with better counter attacks. All we need is some pieces to fall in place, like getting Özil in the team and Flamini out of it, but we need to be compact like this, not go gung-ho again next game.

Cazorla MotM, please be more consistent! Chambers was unreal again, this man is making me forget about Sagna which is ace. Only really poor player was Flamini but that is really expected.

Let's keep with up!

Loved the win. The feeling when you go through pressure towards the end just to get away with it and end up with a clean sheet.

It really was like 13/14.

Cazorla was immense. Welbeck took his goal really well too. Koscielny back and Giroud back will only improve us.

Shame about Monreal injury.

Hope we can finally go on a decent run.

Thats how we should play to be honest, the gun ho style Arsene like requires players who are clinical upfront and we don't have them at the moment. Until the likes of Theo and Ozil return then we are going to see lot of these 1-0, 2-0 results. Good to see Welbeck scoring, we need other players in the team to grab a goal or two just to give them a bit of confidence. I hope the likes of Santi and Ramsey all get one in the next few games. Defensively we were very good especially towards the end, Everyone had to dig in. Good to see that because during the christmas period, a lot of our games are going to be like that.

When you haven't been playing well and haven't been winning games, this is how you need to be playing. It's not the most exciting or prettiest way to play, but it helps to get some wins going and with those win the team will become more confident.

I thought we played well throughout the game. The only thing missing from the first half performance were a couple of goals and I really felt we could have wrapped the game up by then because West Brom weren't offering much. The new front three did okay, but was a bit too narrow, especially with Chambers and Gibbs not getting forward as much.

Second half West Brom was more threatening, but we defended well for the most part. A few of clearances fell too short and we lost out on some second balls, but besides that we stood up well to their more direct approach; having Koscielny back was a huge help. Emi Martinez did well in goal, too.

Welbeck's goal was very well taken. Cazorla was our best player and I'm happy he's turning his form around. Ramsey was okay, too. It seems he's returning to the simpler version of his game and it's working out for him. The timing of his runs is good, so it shouldn't be too long until he starts scoring again.

Big game on Wednesday against Southampton. I think winning that one will go a long way towards repairing our broken confidence and may just be the start of a good run of form. Saying that, I am worried that we are overplaying Alexis and would like to see him get a break soon.

Pretty solid and organised game by us today.
We needed a spark to get a goal, and Santi provided that spark, coupled with a brilliant leap and jump from Welbeck.

Santi was good but still not at his brilliant best. If he or Ramsey had any form going their way we would've scored earlier and maybe have gone on to score 1 or 2 more goals.

But good win. Let's hope that continues on Wednesday night against the Saints.

We are much better when we actually have 2 CBs. No surprises there. The injuries keep flowing but at least we have a solid base now so here's hoping we keep these wins coming.

Creditable display. Santi was excellent today. What a killer assist to top off the performance. His shots were a bit tame but still he pulled the trigger and got them on target.

Two good results now to help turn things around.
