Well, maybe one day...

[I just noticed that transfermarkt.de have made the penalty stats for goalkeepers available again, and I want to update (or rather redo as I have the impression the data differs slightly from what they had before) my penalty killers statistics. ^^]

Bayern on now. I hope HBE is a decent opposition. I have no desire watching another Bayern-Porto game

Tomorrow, if Gladbach defeat Wolfsburg. ^^

Fun match, btw - Swiss media set it up as Diego Benaglio vs Yann Sommer.

Anyone think that BMG are actually a better team than Wolfsburg?

Wolfsburg have the more expensive players, but IMO BMG have the better coach who manages to get the most out of his team.

Plus BMG have the far bigger fanbase, so their support both at home and abroad is exemplary, which might make a difference at times, too.

I'm not even sure that Favre is much better as a coach than Wolfsburg, it's just that BMG have changed their squad more gradually, and have grown together more coherently, while Wolfsburg have had the odd revamp of their squad with a lot of signings and sales, and, yes, Favre probably also has a more clear picture of what he wants to do.

The biggest factor is probably that BMG still self-identifies as a big club even though they last were really big in the '70s. Wolfsburg have a bit of a small club mentality sometimes.

There's rumours of Basti going to MLS. I think it is too early but I don't see him staying @ Bayern beyond 2016. IMO after 09-10 season, at best he had a couple of great 1/2 seasons in both years of Jupp's tenure at best. I thought Javi really pulled us through in our CHL Win and Basti was one of our comparatively weaker links, he really couldn't handle Dortmund's pressing. With Pep, he has never been that good anyways. He is not that great @ playing a lone DM and does not offer the creativity that Thiago gives @ CM.

While I admire him as a person, I don't think he will settle for a bench role when Lahm/Robben etc are playing regularly and his wages are very high(doubt he will take a wage cut).

I hope if he leaves Bayern atleast he goes into Seria A because he can still start in Milan or Inter type teams. I still think if he remains injury free a year, he still has 1 top season in him @ Bayern.

I like Mochengladbach tbh, even signing Stindl to replace Kramer is a big move. We'll see who they lose over the summer but I think they are going to stick in the top 4 for a while like this. I like the way they play and they could do some damage in Europe even.

So far the only other player who *might* leave is Max Kruse, but this is by no way clear. Rumours say that Gladbach is working on improving their defense by signing Fabian Schär, but this also is a rumour at the moment.

If they get Schar that would be a coup! He's a fantastic young defender (at least from what I've seen of him). I don't really have any favourite German team but I'm starting to really warm up to Gladbach.

Yeah, Fabian Schär would be the next Basel guy to end up in Gladbach. I bet Yann Sommer and Granit Xhaka would be happy to welcome him in the fold. Very Happy

Well, Hannover are in danger of dropping into the relegation spots and it looks that their coach managed to explain the seriousness of the situation to his players in the halftime break.

Bayern playing most of their Regionalliga team against Bayer was booo! Hiss! That way they made it easy for Leverkusen to get some crucial points in the fight for the 3rd league spot.
