Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, Schalke are too volatile, I fear. The average coach lasts for about 8 months there. And if Schaaf already sulked because he felt he didn't get proper backing by the Eintracht board, I don't want to imagine what he would think about CT and HH.

Looks like Jens Keller is applying for the Frankfurt job:

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Considering the way both teams played, this was pretty lucky, and borderline-undeserved by the HSV, but, all in all, I'd rather have Hamburg in the first flight than Karlsruhe. Even though Karlsruhe would've meant another first flight stadium within spitting distance, but I already got the superior Darmstadt for that.
So all in all, while I think Hamburg got super lucky, I am pleased.
At least one record bloody Bayern can't get.
Would've loved watching the derbies again if Hamburg had gotten relegated, though.

As someone once said "They are so bad, they don't even manage to get relegated."

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Watched Tuchel's first press conference and presentation of Tuchel and I liked his enthusiasm. He looks fired up after a long year.
In more positive BVB news, Roman Bürki is close to joining the club according to Kicker

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
That would be a great move for Roman Bürki and the BVB. Less cool for Mitch Langerak, though, as IMO Bürki is quite a bit better than him.urbaNRoots wrote:In more positive BVB news, Roman Bürki is close to joining the club according to Kicker

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
They need a new keeper desperately. Langerak doesn't cut it, period. It's no coincidence he was on the bench all that time.
Good for them if they sign Bürki.
Then use part of the Gündogan money to sign Geis.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
the league can't do without those fans... and Labbadia slidetacklin' vdV
and if HSV really gets Mehmedi now, that should be a good sign - even though i highly doubt it.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Unfortunately I don't have the current print version of Kicker here, but their annual survey was already published by a couple other news sources, too. They conduct a survey where they ask the current Bundesliga players about their favourite players, coaches etc. These are the results I could find so far:
Best field player:
1. Kevin De Bruyne - 52.5%
2. Arjen Robben - 23.5%
3. Karim Bellarabi - 6.6%
4. Alex Meier - 2.7%
4. Thiago - 2.7%
Best goalkeeper:
1. Manuel Neuer - 26.8%
2. Yann Sommer - 16.9%
3. Roman Bürki - 14.2%
4. René Adler - 10.9%
5. Bernd Leno - 8.2%
6. Timo Horn - 7.1%
Best coach:
1. Lucien Favre - 30.6%
2. Markus Weinzierl - 24.6%
3. Bruno Labbadia - 10.9%
Best referee:
1. Florian Meyer
2. Knut Kircher - 19.3%
3. Manuel Gräfe - 15.9%
Worst coach:
1. Roberto di Matteo - 30.5%
2.
3.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
And the Borussen Derby is right on the first matchday, too!
Borussia Dortmund vs Borussia Mönchengladbach
I'm curious how Thomas Tuchel will set up the Dortmund team. And hopefully, Gladbach will manage to have a good start nonetheless!
