He's a great little player, but he's just 23 and only at the club for his second season.
He has won shit with Barcelona in this time and neither has he been consistently good.
In fact, his debut season is the first season since 07/08 Barca have no won a major trophy.

Meanwhile, his transfer and the shady shit his father pulled off with the club led to the resignation of the president, criminal investigations and massive tarnishment of the clubs image.

And here he is, making insulting gestures when being subbed off after 70 minutes

The thing is Hans, Neymar has consistently been the 'expendable' member of the front three in Enrique's eyes. He's the first to be subbed off every game and the only one ever benched, even when playing well.

Today I think was the last straw from his point of view. To be the best player on your team and subbed off in the 70th minute, the game after you were benched, is insulting quite frankly. I fully empathise with Neymar, even if his reaction was inappropriate.

Sevilla's unbeaten home record still remains.

Doesn't matter. You have a manager who decides when and who to sub (and these decisions involve more aspects than who was individually good or bad), and behaviour like this is unacceptable from a player, period.

Enrique is a fool. I hope Barcelona sack this clown. The guy should not coach any top team.

I agree with Hans Neymar shouldn't do that.It is clearly unprofessional. He should be given at least warning.

You think injury or fatigue are the only reasons that could motivate a substitution? One where a midfielder comes on for an attacker when the team is leading but losing control over the game? pls

As for the first part, take a moment and think about what that says about your club and its fans.

if you were a manger..

and want to regain control sure, it's acceptable to bring on the fourth midfielder.

but the choice is extremely easy.

hmm do i take out the guy who has rested for a full week that has scored a goal and has been probably man of the match?? or do i take out the guy who missed an open net and 2 1 on 1's..
oh and he also played 3 games in 8 days..

While I too question his reasoning to the substitution, you don't insult your boss like that and yes, Lucho is Neymar's boss. And more importantly, Lucho is a legend at Barcelona. So not only he disrespected his boss but also someone with serious clout at Barcelona.

Not a bright move on Neymar's part.

Anyway, as much as I enjoyed seeing Barcelona dropped points, they really should have won this easily. Kudos to Sevilla for not giving up but that opening 30 to 40 minutes from Barcelona should have yielded more than 2 goals.

IMO it's no secret why Enrique pulled Neymar. He has had the knack for giving the ball away in really dangerous positions last year and especially this year plus he has been in a slump as seen by his first goal in a month.

In Enrique's mind he must have been thinking were 2-1 up they scored on there only shot on target which the keeper had both hands on the ball and should have saved and if we just don't give the ball away in a bad position we will get out of this place with 3 points.

With all that being said it was the wrong move as Neymar was electric tonight. I understand it, but Enrique was out coached by a mile as Sevilla's subs basically won the game for them.

Either way I understand the move as though Neymar was great he was pulling off some amazing dribbling / nutmegs / passes and they all came off but it just takes one to go wrong in a bad position and were exposed.

This is why managers make a lot of money.

And BTW great post by Hans. With all the shit Neymar has caused and the bad form he's been in you would think he could control himself for a half hour when they get in the locker room to show up his coy club ach, then it's fair game especially with the outcome of the match.

You really shouldn't do that at any club but especially not at Barca, it's just never been a me first place it's really the total opposite. In fact with the result in the game if he goes to the bench quietly it makes Enrique look more the fool.

still, a manager is a manager, he could sub u at the very 1st minute of the game, and u had to deal with it.
