Lambert was actually a good manager at Norwich, managed to get two back to back promotions and a comfortable mid-table finish in the PL. Both his and Grant Holt's career fell apart when they split up.

Don't call me James wrote:Hilarious part is that even with that horrible record of his at Villa, we never beat Lambert's team at Anfield. It's absurd tbh.

Lambert deserves a medal for that.

Playing positive has nothing to do with money, you don't need money to play positive and attacking football. Villa are incredibly negative team due to how negative Lambert is and money is just an excuse.

Besides Villa have enough talent to be doing a lot more than they are.

Southampton and Swansea had quietly built very nice teams, proven by the number of players they've lost since then for big money. The biggest transfer fee Aston Villa received during Lambert's tenure was when James Collins joined West Ham for £2.5m. Their squad has been poor and they had no serious money to spend during Lambert's time in charge.

And obviously playing "good, attacking football" is about money, too. Money buys you quality and quality let's you play the kind of game you want.

Not really it's about coaching, there's plenty of teams throughout Europe who play good football who spend close to *bleep* all.

Crying about money is just an excuse for the negative and defensive hoofball Villa fans have been subjected to. The players they have are capable of so much more than 12 goals or whatever it is.

Also since when did money represent the quality of a player?

They play good football at their own level.

And money doesn't represent the value of a single player, but it does of a whole squad. The richest teams top the tables and are the most successful in the long run.

Lambert was into his third season as Aston Villa manager and during all that time their spending had been that of a just-promoted team. It was just a matter of time before that would catch up with them, regardless of the manager.

I just don't think anyone would have done a good job with the minimal resources there's been available at Aston Villa.

Anyway, in other managerial news, QPR's assistant manager Chris Ramsey has been given the reigns until end of the season. That's a risky appointment, really.

On Tuesday QPR chairman Tony Fernandes tweeted he had got his "dream manager".

It is not clear if he was referring to Ramsey, or a potential permanent successor to Redknapp for next season.

Hot vs Ugly XI according to some polls run by a betting website

http://estaticos.sport.es/resources/jpg/1/4/once-guapos-feos-premier-1423683009041.jpg

Apparently Di Maria was voted ugliest and Giroud hottest.

Burnley is on average the hottest team.

That Ugly XI is suspiciously dark, BC trying to force his racism on the forum Mad

Surprised Mata didn't make it given that he's now made an official job of looking nice on the bench for the cameras.
