LA's potential front 6:

                  Zardes----Keane-----Dos Santos

                  Llegett----Gerrard----Juninho

I hate this league

I didn't know what's going on with that roster.

Navigated the internet a little bit and I found out MLS's All Stars will play against Tottenham.

Don't know why, but I want to find out more about MLS right now. Probably because I always thought about the Americans that they are true athletes, hard workers and naturally gifted with mentality of winners. I got this from watching UFC and NBA.

Somehow, I always appreciated the US national team because they had an amazing ambition to stay in the competition (watching World Cups). But with those transfers from Europe, are those American players gone? The ones with the attitude I was speaking about.

And here in Romania, Eurosport provides us LIVE games from MLS. I watched a few games in the past, the rhythm was a little bit slow, funny referees and nice goals.

Yeah a good chunk of our bigger players have moved back to MLS (namely Altidore, Bradley, and Dempsey). Despite that move, it doesn't appear to have impacted us as much as previously thought.

The feedback about Pirlo has been quite positive, though I think the superlatives hurled at him so early in his career in MLS are perhaps a bit overblown. Many think he did extremely well in his debut and from what I saw, he was involved indirectly in atleast 2 of NYC's 5 goals. He did exactly what he's always done: glide around the pitch and spray super accurate balls to runners.

I watched the game, both teams defenses were bad to say the least, but it led to an awesome game imo.

Pirlo only gave the ball away once iirc, other than that, he was typical Pirlo. Controlled the midfield right away, and started 2 attacks that led to goals. You could see players like Poku started benefiting immediately.

Also the loanee from Man City, Angelino looked really good. Think he could make their 1st team in a couple years.

Not exactly "2015" but worth noting anyway:

http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2015/07/30/david-beckhams-miami-mls-team-is-getting-a-really-really-bad-stadium-deal/

http://www.miamitodaynews.com/2015/07/28/marlins-contract-makes-soccer-next-door-a-tougher-game/

One restriction is that soccer can’t sell stadium naming rights until baseball sells its own. But the baseball stadium is in its fourth season and the team still can’t sell those rights because the stadium giveaway deal became a toxic issue.

Further, even if the Marlins someday sell stadium naming rights, soccer can’t sell rights that conflict with the Marlins’ stadium sponsor.

No soccer exterior ads may conflict with a major Marlins sponsor. But if soccer sells an exterior ad that doesn’t conflict, the Marlins can then sign a conflicting sponsor and the soccer sponsor can’t renew.

Soccer stadium architecture must mesh with baseball’s and not reflect light toward it. The Marlins get to review all soccer stadium plans, specifications and leases before construction or lease execution.

Soccer stadium construction may not interfere with baseball from two hours before to one hour after a ballpark game or an event – events Marlins owners book and profit from.

No soccer could be played until four hours after baseball. The Marlins get first choice of dates and times.

The soccer team can’t schedule any games at home from March 15 to Nov. 15 until the Marlins choose their own dates. The soccer team gets the leftovers, though a soccer team would get 13 Saturday nights yearly that the Marlins leave clear.

All that’s well and good, but if the Marlins change their schedule, guess what? The soccer team automatically loses its reserved dates. It’s all up to the Marlins.

That's awful all the way around. Beckham needs to do this right. Feels like this is being rushed. Not understanding what he has to tether his team to a baseball team or an NFL team in order to get it off the ground.

They tried to get separate, beach front property for the stadium but every effort has been stymied by the city's government and leaders. This is quite literally the only option left open to them in Miami that could be feasibly settled before his window of discounted franchise fee ($25 million) closes in three months.

Great to hear SWP did well in his debut. Hope he enjoys it here.

After all that's happened throughout their careers though, it is kind of hilarious that BWP is a designated player, where as SWP isn't lol

At least BWP will stay for some time now with SWP coming in. Was worried he might leave.

I wouldn't worry about that. MLS is getting to the point where enough money is coming in where players like BWP will make more money than the teams that they are good enough to play for in Europe will offer them. BWP is too important to the team, and they would easily double the wages I think any championship/low tier prem team would offer.

I don't get why Beckham wants Miami...I mean it's a sexy location yes, but sporting wise Miami is a total flop in every major sport, Heat weren't even a big draw with LBJ on them, Marlins are a joke, Dolphins don't get great NFL attendance despite being a historical franchise and NFL the money making machine it is in America, Hockey the Panthers are always rumoured to be relocating because of abysmal attendance.

Think it will be better if MLS stays out of Miami will just turn into a dead weight franchise

Yea but all them Spanish speakers though! Although Cubans are more into Baseball than they are into footie.

I think the team will attract viewers though. Marketing the team brand wont be that hard as you already mentioned. All they have to do is maintain the buzz by signing star players. Lets be honest if it worked in LA (where soccer was previously associated with mini vans and suburbia), its going to work in MIA.

i unno NFL and MLB are darlings of american sports culture and they are still pretty terribly supported in Miami.

MLS is making strides but I just don't think Miami is a good choice at this point and time when the league is looking for positive growth.

take a risk on it later when MLS is actually starting to compete with MLB and NFL for TV viewers.
