XaXa should start over Morata sometimes.Morata looks lost,he needs to up his game and gain some confidence.
As for Hernanes, like it or not he was gonna play,we are short on mid options atm.

We can afford to play Morata in moments and games like these. His confidence just seems so off, he has all the ability in the world but he is missing chances he should and normally finishes. It's a very curious case.

Thankfully, we are not short of attacking depth and everyone (except Morata), seems to be scoring goals and enjoying their play

I think the team played well. Morata isn't playing as bad as you guys make him seem like he is. He had good link up play sometimes and he almost scored.

Pogba, Hernanes and Khedira completing just 69% of their 39-odd passes. Marchisio normally does double that #Missed

Not surprised by this. I think Hernanes tries too hard to impress, he does some alright things and complicates some simple things. He obviously lacks game time as well as comfort.

I agree with that to a certain extent. It's not like he looks lost when he's on the ball, but he has regressed from last season when we all expected improvement

Morata needs to sit on the bench, period. He needs to fight for his place, we are a team and no matter what name is on the jersey if he is playing like average serie b player he needs to sit on the bench.

I think we should not quit too easy on MORATA
however, ZAZA has been impressive so he sure deserves more time,

Well it's a no brainer really. The advantage of having 3 big number 9 type strikers is that you can pick and choose between them. Otherwise there's no point having 3 for 1 role, unless 1 is a low quality emergency choice but neither of these 3 lads are of course.

So if Morata can't score to save his life, play the guy who's been banging them in with much less of an opportunity. Failing that play the best out of the 3 in Mandzukic whenever he's fit.

Sometimes it's not just as simple as that guys. With the 1+1 logic you risk fcking up the player's confidence for good.

In some cases you just have to have faith in the player until he pulls through his rough patch, exactly how Allegri did with Mandzukic at the start of the season.

The percentage itself means nothing. It's about the type of passes you're attempting to complete AND whether the team is doing a good job of making passes available.

From watching Juve consistently now... this is not a possession team. It's very much a counter attacking team this season BECAUSE it doesn't have a striker that can consistently do damage against a set defense. The best chances at goal are on a counter or on a set piece.

That being the case, the players are asked to force the issue to create an advantage even if it's not the safe play.

I don't think benching him for the next succession of games would be that detrimental and kill his confidence. If anything it would be a wake up call for him.

He's had a lot of chances and he'll have plenty of them in the second half of the season but he's been subpar for a while and there's a much more inform striker in Zaza who deserves to start right now simply because he would offer more.

In my opinion a wake up call isn't what Moratta needs at this point mate.

A wake up call/bench is needed for those that don't give a damn during the game.

Moratta though is trying his best, he's giving his all each game he plays in and he's doing whatever he can to help the team. It's just that he doesn't have that easy goal.

Anyhow, this conversation is kind of pointless since once Mandzukic is back both Zaza and Moratta will be benched.

P.S Do you guys agree that aside from the lack of goals, Morata's overall game has improved compared to last season?

Nope it hasn't

btw what a message would that send to the rest of the players who preform great when given a chance that a place is guaranteed to player who isn't performing? You have players like Sandro on the bench. Nope whatever happens Morata needs to hit the bench.

@ DEVI
I agree what you say about MORATA case, I just think we need to make sure how we approach the situation, sometimes it could be worth waiting if you know what I mean, I hope the coach choose the best decision there even though its a gamble

The successful passes are important

I remember XAVI used to make so many passes and I think that is because of the qualities he used to have such as ALERTNESS, BALL CONTROL, DRIBBLING, so even if he doesn't do something magical he is a TRUSTWORTHY player to pass the ball to him, it adds confidence to the team, and these kind of guys rarely leads to dispossession , I think they are good
MARCHISIO is somehow imitating a XAVI kind a game

but on the other side I remember PIRLO who did not make so many passes of the ball, but instead he always had that MAGICAL crossing forwards to the strikers, side-strikers, so he is kinda player who create chances to score goals, instead of simply making a simple pass to the closest team-mate

so what I want to say is that SUCCESSFUL PASSES of MARCHISIO means he is doing a good job there,
even though he doesn't serve the ball like PIRLO forwards that is not a big deal because different players can do that kind of role to threaten opponents with DRIBBLING, CROSSING, like POGBA, DYBALA, CUADRADO , so there is no need for MARCHISIO to play RISKY GAME there if its not his natural talent to serve the ball but the qualities are compensated from different players , even though we have no PIRLO, we have POGBA who from different position can lead us to unlock opponents on his own ways

in-fact it would be good to have a LINE-BACK full of players who can pass the ball good and safe like MARCHISIO

this is how BALL POSSESSION percentage improves when you have players like MARCHISIO, EVRA who are safe to pass the ball to, because they don't lead to dispossession ,

a perfect defender is the one who can pass the ball good as well, for example CAFU used to be really good, these kind of players gives you really good ball possession , they don't need to be as good as PIRLO when serving the ball, but they are SAFE , TRUSTWORTHY players, who pass the ball GOOD ,

instead of having GRYGERA there who has no idea what to do with the ball, no qualities of passing the ball, so he leads you to dispossession to easy , he also makes the life more difficult to the midfielders

successful passes of someone means he is a good player to have, he improves the ball possession, however, it is the creative players like PIRLO who serve the ball on dangerous zones and leads to the goal

when PIRLO was serving the ball to a WING-BACK for example LICHTAINER,

he was passing the ball - behind the opposite DEFENDER,

like in playstation you would do that with TRIANGLE, or LOB+TRIANGLE , or maybe with a CROSSING with the CIRCLE ,  to pass the ball behind opponents back-line

these kind of passes are extreme difficult and not so many players are good at it; like PIRLO

but that is one way of how you can win the game,
if you look at BARCELONA they don't have DEEP MIDFIELDER who crosses the ball like PIRLO, but instead the STRIKERS are the one who pass the ball to each other with that TIKI - TAKA they manage to get behind the opposite - back-line

and for the DEEP ROLE, they use players like XAVI who can run with the ball, who make lots of successful passes, so the ball its safe until someone like MESSI takes it, to do the MAGIC

we have players like DYBALA, POGBA, CUADRADO these guys should manage to get behind the opposite-line back, we don't necessary need someone else on the DEEP to serve the ball like PIRLO, a specially because there is no NEW PIRLO,

PIRLO is a perfect OPTION to have if your strikers are not creative enough like ASAMOAH, MATRI, LICHTAINER . so you need someone to serve the ball from deep

if you have creative forwards like DEL PIERO, NEDVED, those guys can manage to get behind the line back with tiki-taka, or with dribbling so they don't really need PIRLO behind them to serve the ball behind the back-line, because DEL PIERO and NEDVED are no exactly " RECEIVERS " of the pass, they are more like PLAYMAKERS, they are more like players who serve the ball themselves and someone else needs to receive it so its a different kind of game

with PIRLO you PUSH THE TEAM FORWARDS
with NEDVED, POGBA, MESSI, with these kind players they pull FORWARDS , they pass behind the like-back themselves
