Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Supposedly the talks with Pedro and Inter were trying to work something out for Kovacic.

Pedro hardly plays right now anyway. So getting rid of Pedro and giving Adama/Munir/Sandro (maybe even Deulofeu who knows) his junk minutes isn't the end of the world. If Kovacic isn't cup tied (odds are Inter don't make the UCL) then I am all for this type of deal.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
I actually think Coutinho would be good. A bit more mobile and can beat that first line of pressure. Wither that or maybe it would be better if Enrique starts using a 3 at the back so that Messi can stay central, but having a central player that doesn't press is bad, that is one of the reasons Rijkaard put Dinho on the left.
Reus makes no sense. He won't bench MSN. He's not that stupid.

Yea as mentioned I know it won't work unless we drastically change formations which isn't necessary

Coutinho could replace Iniesta, no? No need to change shape.

In theory yes, but would the club do it is another story. Xavi is mid 30's and still here.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
it's so difficult to talk about transfers with a ban and elections coming around.
we don't even know if enrique will stay manager by the end of the season, the only thing we can come to expect is a big name buy that will be used for bragging rights in the elections.
someone like pogba so our president can say some stupid line like "you see i listen to the problems i brought X player"
but then when you pay X players dad you blame it on the dead coach.. but that's another story.

But what about if one of Messi, Suarez and Neymar are injured/need resting....someone has to actually start games.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Well I'm assuming if we sell Pedro, that we would get a solid replacement. We are too thin up front to not think the club wouldn't get someone. I would vouch for Depay

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
From a sporting and economical point of view, the move would be to sell Iniesta.
We could still get a huge fee for him and replace him with Pastore or someone else, who are obviously better than him at the moment, or help with Pogba's fee. A midfield with Busquets, Pogba, Pastore and Rakitic would be just incredibly good and complete.
However, it's very unlikely that we will sell him because he is a club icon deservedly, and we'll do a Xavi/Puyol with him.
Then the RB spot should be occupied by Adama Traore, he has everything to triumph there.

What is not to like from him, he's a very good footballer!
Dude causes lots of problems every time we face him, he destroyed chelsea, and has improved enormously defensively from his lazy first performances with Argentina and PSG.
Also, I can't think of many better than Iniesta AM/CM to sign. Coutinho has been suggested and he would be fine too, but I prefer Pastore.

Not a big Pastore fan. At least not for us. Just my 2 cents.

He is very good, but I dont know if im totally convinced just yet. Was just wondering your view.
Why do you consider him better than Pjanic for example? Or Eriksen even?

it's pretty easy to say Iniesta will not leave this summer.. like zero chance, unless he demands to.
he is a fan favorite and like i said elections = pleasing fans not the opposite.

Very well could be true, but I dont think about signings based on one single season...we shouldnt sign someone because they are good just one season, nor should we reject someone because they had one bad (or just in this case, meh) one.
I think he is quality anyway. Not just an attacking midfielder who wants to play forward and push forward with no care of how the ball gets to that position.

I don't rate Pjanic much. I watched him quite a lot when he was at Lyon and he was average (that's why they shipped him). At Roma, he is supposed to have improved a lot, but the little I've seen, he hasn't been outstanding. I hardly have watched Eriksen, but considering he has not really set Tottenham on fire, I doubt he'll be good enough for us.

Re: Transfer Rumours V6
Eriksen is quite good for Tottenham, all their fans love him. But this is mostly because he scores a lot of game deciding free kicks in the last 10 minutes, and here no way Coachessi let's him do that.

Pastore is inconsistent, but surely a CL standard footballer.

All of the players named have played, and played well in the Champs League.
And did so when they were likely worse players.

Not only Xavi. Lovechild of Xavi and Ronaldinho.
Best young player out there without a doubt. Neymar a distant second.
