I might be getting ahead of myself but if it was between Firmino, Bacca and Rondon for our striker position and then we are still truly after Kovacic we might have one of the best squads in the PL next season.

Clyne - Skrtel - Sakho - Moreno
Can
Henderson - Kovacic
Milner - Firmino - Coutinho

Getting a bit ahead of myself but that is a really nice team.

Honestly surprised you haven't been, tbh.

Liverpool don't have the pull to get players who are already considered world class, but you can certainly pull players who have the potential to be, ala Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge.

Those are the transfers which have worked so I don't understand why your business model isn't to chase more of them.

Firmino is a great step in the right direction, if you did the same with a CF, FB and CM, you'd have a great side.

Kovacic and Clyne fill those roles, and Firmino could easily be that CF you are talking about also. After all he is used as a striker for the NT, and has played there for Hoffenheim also to good effect.

Sky Italia is reporting interest in Kovacic.

I dont see us getting him, We'll have like 6 central midfielders then.

We already have like 5 strikers without that new desired forward.

Even most of the youth players there are already between 19 and 21 and don't look close to featuring for us. So, even with them it's starting to be a case of either releasing / selling them. Need to trim down the squad to bring more quality in.

Also, I think we will land Kovacic. The only way we will lose him is if some other club comes in otherwise I think we are seriously interested and it should be just a matter of € imo.

If we go deep into the four competitions, we will have like 60 games and then even fringe players will have to play like 15-20 games (this is without any injuries). Also, Allen isn't good enough if we are targeting CL (short-term) and winning EPL (long-term), Lucas haven't (and may never will) regain his imperious form after that long injury and Emre is still pretty young and have to be used carefully.
